Continue ReadingThe Class of 2024 has a really nice mix of perimeter players, and currently our Top-150 is home to 27 point guard prospects who make up 18.0% of all 2024 prospects ranked in Indiana. It is their job to take care of the ball and initiate the offense, but this class specifically has several talented shooters, and a number of young ladies who can put the ball in the basket from just about anywhere. Below is a look at those 27 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in January.

– Makenzie is a tough-nosed, strong-for-her-size, quick point guard prospect who just continues to gain confidence as she develops her skillset. She was very impressive at the
Always 100
Showcase two weekends ago, and she played well this past weekend at the Spring Bling. She is a true floor general, but she can also defend and score it a little.

, 2024, 5-5 CG, Mishawaka H.S.
– Asiah is a smooth little guard with wiry strength, she has good speed and quickness to her, and she doesn’t really force the action. She has nice touch around the perimeter with a little range, and she plays with a good motor. She could stand to continue building her strength so she can absorb contact better. She is an active and feisty defender.

, 2024, 5-5 PG, New Prairie H.S.
– It was nice to see Jayden back on the floor this Winter, after she had dealt with some injuries over the past 12-18 months. She has solid quickness, a great feel and vision for the game, and she does a nice job of changing speeds. She is a very good perimeter shooter, she utilizes ball-screens well, and she can get after it defensively. She just needs to continue building her strength, speed, and quickness.

– Alli’s talent has been evident for a couple of years now, but she’s continuing to trend up. She has gotten a little taller, stronger, and more versatile. She is still the deep-shooter who will pull up from 27-feet, but she’s doing a better job of attacking the basket, taking on contact, and finishing inside of 10-feet. After another big Winter, I expect for her to have a nice Spring & Summer with her grassroots team.

Eastbrook | 2024

, 2024, 5-5 CG, Eastbrook H.S.
– One year ago, I felt like Sophia was more of a shooter who could handle the ball a little bit, but now she is leaning towards being more of a point guard who can also shoot it at a high level…something she needed to transition to, considering her size. She is strong, tough-nosed, and has some quickness to her. She has a nice handle, is almost too unselfish at times, but is also the last kid I want to play H-O-R-S-E against.

Charlestown | 2024

, 2024, 5-5 PG, Charlestown H.S.
– Maddie doesn’t have a big name statewide in this class, but she is a favorite of ours. She is quick, quietly tough, wiry-strong, and she plays hard all the time. She is a creator who often looks for teammates, but so far this Spring, she has been a more assertive scorer, getting to the basket just about any time she wants. I’m a big fan of efficient point guards, and Maddie doesn’t waste dribbles or force the action at all.
Adrianne Tolen

West Lafayette | 2024
State

, 2024, 5-9 CG, West Lafayette H.S.
– Adrianne is another one of the lesser-knowns, but she won’t be a secret much longer, as she is playing grassroots ball this Spring & Summer. Adrianne has good height, wiry strength, and she’s a nice all-around athlete. Her athleticism “pops” when you see her on film, and she is a versatile kid skillfully as well. She can handle and create, score it at all levels, plus she will rebound, and she’ll defend multiple positions.
