With several members of the class of 2022 making decisions this past month, we take a look at what perimeter players are still available.

We had [player_tooltip player_id="91565" first="Emani" last="Theodule"] (American Heritage Plantation), [player_tooltip player_id="248869" first="Ionna" last="Garcia"] (Holy Trinity Episcopal), and [player_tooltip player_id="220011" first="Maya" last="Williams"] (St. Thomas Aquinas) making college decisions this month, several of the top 2022 players are off the board. We take a look at who is still available.

Any list of unsigned and uncommitted players in the class of 2022, should start with 5’7 Guard [player_tooltip player_id="91561" first="Michiyah" last="Simmons"] (Blanche Ely). Simmons missed the 2021 travel season due to an injury and was still not 100% but when the high school season started. But the high-flying guard is at 100% at was the leader for Blanche Ely this season, leading them to an 18-10 record while playing one of the toughest schedules in the country. Simmons can play both the one and the two, is a solid ball handler, who is very good in the open court and has excellent one on one moves. She plays with a ton of energy and goes hard on both ends of the floor. Interest has picked up towards the end of the high school season picking up a scholarship offer from in state FIU and receiving inquiries from a number of other schools.
Casey Lewis has had a tremendous high school career for both Benjamin School and Palm Beach Lakes. In a shortened season, Lewis was Palm Beach Lakes leading scorer at 11.4 points and the team’s 2nd leading rebounder at 5.7 rebounds per game. She has a strong build and does a great job both initiating contact to get to the rim as well as taking contact and getting to the free throw line.

5’7 Guard [player_tooltip player_id="91581" first="Jaela" last="Davis"] (Brooks DeBartolo) is the top athlete available in the class of 2022. Davis is a true comb guard who is best in up-tempo games where she can use her athleticism on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. She averaged 13 points per game for Brooks DeBartolo shooting 45% from the field, 38% from 3, and getting the free throw line 4+ times per game while shooting 65% from the charity stripe. Davis does a good job pushing the ball in transition and getting into the paint off the dribble and is capable of being a very impactful on ball defender.
If we are talking about raw athleticism and skill and big-time upside, then Jarcerriya Jenkins has to be at the top of the list. Tucked down in Southwest Florida in Fort Myers, FL at Evangelical Christian, Jenkins helped lead her squad to a 24-4 record before losing to state tournament finalist Cardinal Mooney. Jenkins did a little bit of everything for ECS, averaging 14.7 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals per game. She is strong and athletic and has bit time potential!
[player_tooltip player_id="91596" first="Sierra" last="Godbolt"] (Lake Highland Prep) has unfortunately caught the injury bug during parts of both her Junior and Senior season at Lake Highland Prep. When healthy, the 5’7 point guard is a floor general that directs her team, sees the floor well, advances the ball up the court to open players, and can handle it vs pressure. She is a tough, gritty player, who plays with tremendous intensity and passion and gives maximum effort any time she is on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="91566" first="Joey" last="Delancy"] (American Heritage Plantation) is 5’10 and can play the 2, 3, and 4. Her well-rounded offensive skill makes her a very reliable and versatile player who does not need the ball in her hands or have plays run for her. She is a selfless player, who helps space the floor, promotes ball movement and shoots a high percentage from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id="153108" first="Taja" last="Stephens"] (Western HS) was one of Broward counties top players, helping Western HS to one of their best seasons in school history. Throughout the season, Stephens was extremely reliable for Western doing a little bit of everything leading the team in scoring with 17.5 points, while also averaging 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 3.2 steals per game. She shoots a high percentage from the field, shooting 44% from the field and 38% from 3. Her well rounded offensive skill set is her biggest strength, as she does not do any one thing on the offensive end exceptional but she does a lot of things very good.
