[player_tooltip player_id='514522' first='Morgan' last='Cremen'] has been one of the most disruptive defenders in St. Johns County for four straight years, leading in steals and building a reputation opponents know before tip-off. Her on-ball defense is elite — anticipation, timing, and confidence allow her to simply remove the ball from a handler and turn defense into instant offense. This season she added an offensive surge that now puts postseason hardware in reach, but make no mistake — her defense is still the foundation. Ball handlers don't run offense against her - they do their best to get away from her.

Quin'nya Gray De Sanders is one of the top athletes and defenders in the State. At the FABC Showcase in Gainesville, a college coach called Quinn Sanders the most athletic player in the gym. On defense, that shows immediately. She can help, recover, switch, and still beat you to the spot. She disrupts actions and turns the opponent's possessions into chaos. When Grey De Sanders is on the floor she erases advantages with speed and anticipation. She is also a blur in the transition game and a nightmare for her match-ups.

Cami Walters is one of the top help-side defenders on the First Coast. Walters built her reputation as a shot blocker from her very first varsity game as a freshman and has continued the block party throughout her high school career. Her timing in transition is very good. In transition, she runs the floor and scores with floaters and runners, and an occasional three. Defensively, she is a lane-protector and a nightmare for the opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='514527' first='Arianna' last='Walker'] combines physicality with speed, and that is a dangerous defensive combination. Walker has developed into one of the top defenders in the city and in the 2026 class. She cuts off driving lanes, plays passing lanes, and blocks shots from the guard position. One AAU game comes to mind when she had multiple three-point blocks in a single game and preserving the W. She never gives up on a play, and transition defense is where she becomes a beast. Her college commitment speaks to overall upside, and her specialty is lock-down defense. Walker is the guard who makes others rethink attacking the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='928406' first='Malekhi' last='Merritt'] plays defense with intent. She cuts off driving angles, plays physical at the point of attack, and carries the chip every good defender needs. Merritt has active hands that produce deflections, transition stops, and broken possessions. She understands her role as a defensive stopper and does a good job of executing it. Merritt stops the ball, pressures the handler, and make every trip uncomfortable. Simply put, Merritt is a nightmare on the defensive end.
