Leilani Love Leilani Love 6'1" | C Albuquerque | 2023 State NM – 6’1 Center “Albuquerque” Class of 2023 (#1PGHNM)
Leilani Love had a phenomenal season for Albuquerque High this year. Albuquerque High went 20-7 this season and were district champions by going undefeated at 10-0 in district play. They also won the district tournament championship vs Santa Fe before the start of the State Tournament. Leilani was the 6th leading scorer in New Mexico this season, the states leading rebounder and led the state with double-doubles this season. Leilani averaged a double-double of 19.4 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game this season. She had eleven 20-point games this year and eighteen double-doubles. Leilani was solid at getting to the free throw line by making 80 free throws this season which was 15th in New Mexico. Defensively Leilani averaged 2.7 blocks per game and 2.3 steals per game. Leilani has continued working on her game this offseason by attending the “Big Time Hoops” Showcase. She had a tremendous weekend by leading the Showcase in scoring at 18.5 points per game. Leilani has a bright future ahead of her.
Kathleen Obisike Kathleen Obisike 5'11" | C Hope Christian | 2023 State NM – 5’11 Center “Hope Christian” Class of 2023 (#2PGHNM)
Kathleen Obisike Kathleen Obisike 5'11" | C Hope Christian | 2023 State NM had a monster season for Hope Christian this year. She averaged a double-double and scored over 20 points per game this season. Kathleen shot a very efficient 57% from the field. Hope Christian went 17-13 this season and 7-1 during district play. They finished second place in district and secured the 9th seed during the 4A State Tournament. She averaged 2.4 steals per game on the defensive end of the floor. Kathleen was one of the top Bigs and most consistent players in the state this season.
Alyce Apachito Alyce Apachito 5'11" | C To'hajiilee | 2023 State NM – 5’11 Center “To’hajiilee” Class of 2023
Alyce Apachito Alyce Apachito 5'11" | C To'hajiilee | 2023 State NM was one of the top Centers from New Mexico this season and was a huge factor in To’hajiilee’s success. Alyce averaged an impressive 15.1 points per game and was one of the most consistent scoring Centers this year. To’hajiilee went 20-5 this season and went undefeated at 8-0 during district play. To’hajiilee won the district title and the district tournament championship vs Pine Hill before the start of the State Tournament. Alyce led To’hajiilee to the 1A Semifinals to wrap up a solid junior season. She finished the season scoring the 15th most points per game this season and will a force to be reckoned with next year.
