Alyssa Vigil Alyssa Vigil 5'8" | SF Hope Christian | 2023 State NM – 5’8 Small Forward “Hope Christian” Class of 2023 (#4PGHNM)
Forward Alyssa Vigil Alyssa Vigil 5'8" | SF Hope Christian | 2023 State NM had a solid season for Hope Christian this year. She was the teams second leading scorer averaging 15.9 points per game and was the states 11th leading scorer this past season. Alyssa led Hope Christian to a 17-13 record this year, 7-1 in district play and finished second in district overall. Hope Secured the 8th seed in the 4A State Tournament. Alyssa also averaged 6.0 rebounds per game and shot a solid 76% from the free throw line this year.
Ema Rose Ema Rose 5'11" | PF Gadsden | 2023 State NM – Forward “Gadsden” Class of 2023 (#6PGHNM)
Ema Rose Ema Rose 5'11" | PF Gadsden | 2023 State NM is one of the top players in the entire Class of 2023, but is also one of the top players in New Mexico. This past season Ema averaged an impressive 15.0 points per game which led her team in scoring this year. She was also the 16th leading scorer in New Mexico this season. Ema almost averaged a double-double by grabbing 9.2 rebounds per game which was the 6th most in New Mexico this year. Her play helped Gadsden finish the season 16-10. Ema had eight 20-point games this season and twelve double-doubles. Ema was recently at the “Big Time Hoops” Showcase continuing working on her game and preparing for her senior year next season.
Aspen Salazar Aspen Salazar 5'9" | SF Centennial | 2023 State NM – 5’9 Small Forward “Centennial” Class of 2023 (#9PGHNM)
Aspen Salazar Aspen Salazar 5'9" | SF Centennial | 2023 State NM had an impressive junior season this year for Centennial. She led the team in scoring averaging 14.1 points per game and averaged 6.3 rebounds per game. Aspen was great at getting to the free throw line and was 10th in New Mexico in free throws attempted. She made 103 free throws this year and ranked 9th in free throws made. Her play helped Centennial finish 20-10 this year and secure the 8th seed in the 5A State Tournament. Centennial reached the 5A State Quarterfinals before losing to the eventual State Champion, Volcano Vista. Aspen recently helped her Club team “Las Cruces Premier” win the “Prime Event” Championship in Texas by winning four games in a 24 hour span. Keep your eyes on Aspen Salazar Aspen Salazar 5'9" | SF Centennial | 2023 State NM for the rest of this off-season and her senior year next year.
Gabby O’Hara Gabby O’Hara 5'5" | SF Bernalillo | 2023 State NM – Forward “Bernalillo” Class of 2023 (#10PGHNM)
Gabby O’Hara Gabby O’Hara 5'5" | SF Bernalillo | 2023 State NM was easily one of the states most underrated players this season and helped Bernalillo make it to the 4A State Championship game vs Kirtland Central. Gabby averaged a consistent 11.0 points per game and averaged 8.6 rebounds per game which ranked 9th in New Mexico this season. She had three double-doubles this season and her impact on both ends of the floor helped Bernalillo finish 28-2 this season and as district champions. She did it all for Bernalillo and hustled as much as anyone in the state. Expect Gabby to have a strong season next year.
Evann Segura Evann Segura 5'10" | PF Moriarty | 2023 State NM – 5’10 Power Forward “Moriarty” Class of 2023 (#12PGHNM)
Power Forward Evann Segura Evann Segura 5'10" | PF Moriarty | 2023 State NM was one of the most consistent big’s in New Mexico this year. Evann was Moriarty’s second leading scorer and averaged 13.4 points per game this season. She was tied for the 11th leading rebounder in New Mexico this season by grabbing 8.5 boards per game. Evann posted ten double-doubles this year and helped Moriarty finish 19-7 this season. They finished 6-2 in district play and second in district overall. Moriarty cliched the 7th seed in the 4A State tournament and reached the 4A Quarterfinals this past season. Expect Evann too continue making noise heading into her senior year.
