There was some excellent talent that was spread out among the various age groups at the event. Here is a look at some of the top standouts from Sunday’s final day of competition.
Alli Robertson (Missouri Phenom 16U): The 5’11″ 2024 forward was very impressive with her physical strength and versatility, which made her a very difficult matchup problem. She can play bully-ball to get into the lane for buckets or she can knock down 3-pointers. She is also an excellent playmaker with her ball handling and passing skills. Attends Fatima.
S’Mya Nichols (Missouri Phenom 17U-EYBL): The 6’0″ 2023 guard from Shawnee Mission West (KS) was a force in leading her team to the 17U championship. Defenders who tried to pressure her were merely bouncing off of her as she played through contact to the basket. She had great footwork on her drives and step-throughs. She can create a shot whenever she wanted to.
Olivia Hahn Olivia Hahn 5'9" | CG Incarnate Word Academy | 2023 State MO (Phee Elite 17U-Olufson): The 5’10″ 2023 guard from Incarnate Word Academy is a solid player who seems to have a magnet in her uniform that attracts her to the basketball. She is always in the right position at both ends of the court. She can make the open 3-pointer, move without the basketball and keep the ball moving on the pass.
Hannah Fenton (Missouri Phenom 15U-EYBL): The 5’4″ 2025 point guard from Pattonville was terrific in the semifinals game that I watched her against the Phenom 16U EYBL team. She has tremendous speed and quickness and it was on display throughout the game. She was getting into the lane for buckets on penetrating drives and she was hitting 3-pointers when defenders gave her a little space.
Hannah Wallace Hannah Wallace 6'0" | SF Cardinal Ritter | 2024 State MO (Phee Elite 17U): A 6’0″ 2024 small forward from Cardinal Ritter who is a versatile defensive player capable of guarding all five positions. She ran the court well for transition buckets and can hit the 3-pointer off the catch.
Candra King (Crossover Hoops-16U): A 6’0″ 2025 forward from xx who has a solid post game inside. She has good fundamentals and footwork inside as she keeps the ball high and uses the backboard. She also stepped outside and hit a 3-pointer off the catch.
Jayda Porter Jayda Porter 6'4" | C Rock Bridge | 2026 State MO (Missouri Phenom 15U): A 6’2″ 2026 post player who is capable of controlling the paint at both ends of the court. She has good mobility and balance inside as she can rebound out of her area and go up and catch the ball in traffic. She is a good finisher in the paint with both hands.
Peyton Olufson Peyton Olufson 5'8" | CG Incarnate Word Academy | 2026 State MO (Knights Basketball Academy 14U): A little look into the future with this 5’7″ 2026 guard who plays a solid all-around game. She is a coach’s kid and it shows with her overall understanding of the game. She can shoot, handle and pass the ball with equal effectiveness.
Jamiah Green (Missouri Phenom 2027): Another future standout I got a look at was this 5’7″ 2028 point guard who was playing up a grade level and was very comfortable doing it. She is a very skilled guard with a high basketball IQ. Her court vision is very good for such a young player.
