I am very intrigued to see how these players continue to develop throughout their high school careers. For these guards to only have one year of high school experience, they showed some great poise, skill, and maturity. Let’s take a look at some of the 15U guard play.
Jordan Anderson | Combo Guard | OKC Lions Elite/Harding Charter Prep | 2025
I’ve already mentioned Jordan in one article, but she’s worth mentioning again. Sometimes you can just see when a player has potential. She did a little bit of everything for her team. She can score, get others involved, defend, and she doesn’t back down from anyone.
Brianna Jones | Point Guard | OKC Lions Elite/Harding Charter Prep | 2025
Brianna and Jordan are a deadly combination. They both attend the same high school so they will only get better. Brianna has the ability to score the ball, but can be more of a facilitator. She’s not going to force any shots and defensively she plays with an edge. She’s going to get after you on both ends of the floor.
Preslee Hartsock Preslee Hartsock 5'6" | PG Community Christian | 2025 State OK | Guard | Team Griffin Elite 2025 Wernli/Community Christian School | 2025
Preslee played on a team that was dominant throughout the weekend. The game I was able to catch they handled the competition with ease. There are a few things I could discuss, but one skill I saw players struggle with is pushing the ball full speed in transition with body and ball control. Preslee pushed the ball well in transition and showed she could finish the play herself on balance and with good footwork.
Ava Casper Ava Casper 5'7" | SG Holland Hall | 2025 State OK | Guard | Team Griffin Elite 2025 Wernli/Bixby | 2025
I love a shooter. Especially someone that can make shots in a variety of ways. A lot of players can stand in one spot and shoot uncontested shots in practice, but other players like Ava made shots in the mid-range, running off screens, and off the dribble.
Evianna Mitchell | Guard | Team Buddy Buckets 2025/Carl Albert | 2025
A player with good vision and can pass on time and on target is a great asset to have. Evianna showed she can get others involved with her ability to pass the ball. She had the vision to see plays develop and deliver passes to open cutters or off the dribble when she attacked.
Avery Ragland | Point Guard | Team Griffin OK PwR 2025 Aeschelman/Mustang | 2026
Playing up Avery remained calm and poised while being a facilitator and distributor in the game I saw her play. She let the game come to her and kept things running smoothly for her team. That doesn’t mean she can’t put the ball in the hoop. She scored behind the three-point line, off the dribble, and she moved without the ball for finishes in the lane.
Lynzie Overstreet | Point Guard | Rebel Elite 2025/Will Rogers | 2025
It didn’t take long to see the skill set that Lynzie has. She can handle the ball with ease, score in transition by getting to the rim or shooting the mid-range pull-up, finish through contact, and get other players involved. Her attacking mentality constantly keeps the defense on their heels.
Kamryn Brown | Guard | Rebel Elite 2025/Glenpool | 2025
Kamryn is a player that can stretch the defense with her ability to knock down the three-ball. This forces defenders to stay close and create driving gaps for her teammates. In the open court, she takes the ball strong to the basket. She likes to initiate contact on the drive to get the defense off balance so she can finish with ease.
Kate Noller | Guard | Team Buddy Buckets/Edmond North | 2025
Every team needs a shooter, someone who can make threes and force the defense into long closeouts. Kate did just that in the game I watched. She made multiple 3’s and was a threat to make shots every time she caught the ball.
Evan O’Steen | Guard | True Texas Hoops 2026 National/Grapevine Faith | 2026
Evan is an athletic wing player that had several skills on display. She was a solid on ball defender, but also provided great help defense when on the weak side. She rotated over to block shots, played the passing lanes well and made the catch and shoot three-pointer.
