With that being said, here are five underrated forwards in the 2025 class.
No. 52: Haszah Ward Haszah Ward 5'11" | SF Plainfield | 2025 State NJ – 5-10 SF, Plainfield
Ward nearly averaged double-figures for Plainfield this season, scoring 9.1 points a game. She played in just 17 games, but showed out in a big way toward the end of the season. This is a player who in her last five games, had four 12+ point performances and averaged 12.0 PPG in total. Her final game was an 18-point game with six steals and four blocks, dominating the competition in a 52-48 win over Perth Amboy.
No. 55: Caroline Polloway Caroline Polloway 6'2" | C Red Bank Regional | 2025 State NJ – C, Red Bank Regional
Playing in a conference with as high of a level of competition as the Shore Conference, it brings out the best of players. That happened for Polloway in her freshman year, flirting with double-double numbers and recording four during the year. Her most impressive area of her game is her shot-blocking by far as this is a player who already is getting multiple blocks a game on average. The more she can hone in on her craft, the better she’s going to command the paint.
No. 65: Olivia Kapolka Olivia Kapolka PF South Plainfield | 2025 State NJ – PF, South Plainfield
Kapolka averaged roughly around eight points and eight rebounds a game with South Plainfield as a freshman. She seems to have a great feel for the game and is a great post player. We’re very much impressed by her poise in the lane, but her aggression, when it takes over, is very difficult to be stopped. Naturally, her defense, between shot-blocking and creating turnovers off steals, is stellar. Continued improvement from her will result in a double-double average very soon.
No. 41: Qui-Mia Wilkins Qui-Mia Wilkins 5'7" | SF Pemberton | 2025 State NJ – 5-7 SF, Pemberton
Wilkins is a forward/guard combo player who is very active on the defensive side of the ball. She averaged near-double figures as a freshman, 9.4 points per game to be exact, but her game is much more than just her offense. With over four steals a game, over one block a game and around 2.5 assists a game, she can make opponents pay in a number of ways. Wilkins is multi-faceted already in her game and in time, will become one of the best small forwards in the state.
No. 72: Giselle Davis Giselle Davis 6'0" | SF Bayonne | 2025 State NJ – 5-11 SF, Bayonne
Davis started out the year strong with Bayonne and is looking to build off that early success going into next season. She had two double-doubles and four near double-double performances within the first 10 games of her high school career at Bayonne. That’s the level of consistency she can set on a game-by-game basis. The great thing about all of these freshmen is that they’re already incredibly talented and will only get better with time. The same is true for Davis without a doubt.
