Sydney Marshall 2027 5’10 Kinkaid High School, TX (Just Play Elite 2026 JT)
Sydney is an athletic forward who really stood out during her time on the court through her ability to rebound the ball and make plays on the defensive side of the court. She is a very skilled trapper who is good at making her opponent uncomfortable. She not only reads the defense and plays in the passing lanes but truly reads ball handlers and has a nose for where they want to go with the basketball. She is an elite defender for her age and I was very impressed with her ability to move her feet and protect the paint.
Marshall is not just an aware player on defense, she routinely makes good decisions without the basketball through her constant motion that Just Play Elite runs. She always makes good off ball cuts to the rim, and pops out beyond the arc when necessary. She is not afraid of contact in the paint and can attack the defense with a live dribble. She looks like she has all the tools to develop into a highly skilled three and d wing.
Benita Byrd 2027 5’5 Kinkaid High School, TX (Just Play Elite 2026 JT)
Benita is a skilled and lanky guard who can score from all three levels of the floor, but also plays hard on both sides of the ball. She is skilled enough to manipulate the defense with a live dribble and initiate offense for her teammates. She routinely scored off the bounce from the midrange and beyond the arc. She always seemed to knock down open looks when she got to set her feet. She consistently finished in the paint and was good at sneaking around her defender and then sealing them on her back for easy looks down low.
I was very impressed with her ability to find space and use it to get through traps and turn the corner on her opponents within the half court. In the full court she is dynamic and a real problem to opposing defenses with her ability to make the right decisions and also get around her defenders. Another thing I loved seeing about her game was her willingness to dive on the floor after loose balls. She consistently fought on the ground for loose balls and long rebounds. I loved seeing all of that fight she had in her game.
Chloe Hartzler 2027 5’5 KS (Kansas Bluejays 2026)
Chloe is a high level scoring guard with a real ability to take her opponents off the dribble and rise up over the top of them with her smooth pull up jumper. She got this off from beyond the arc, but was especially deadly in the midrange. She was calm and always took what the defense gave her from all three levels of the floor. I was very impressed with her smooth shooting mechanics at such a young age, and her ability to punish the defense with her set shot or off the dribble was very impressive.
She is not just a shooter from the outside however, she displayed a soft touch on her floater she loved to get off in the paint. This floater allowed her to softly put the ball over the outstretched arms of her defenders in the paint, and really allowed her to make a difference in the lane with her undersized frame. On the defensive side of the ball, her ability to recognize passes and plays develop allowed her to live in the passing lanes and go coast to coast. She was a force to be reckoned with through her ability to consistently turn defense into offense. Hartzler is a high level scoring machine and I am excited to watch her develop into an even more dynamic player over the next few years.
Kamdyn Flora 2027 5’8 TX (Just Play Elite 2026 JT)
Kamdyn is a highly skilled combo guard with a real ability to punish teams from the outside. She has a quick release and a knock down set shot from the corners and wings. She is a creative shotmaker in the paint and the midrange, who showed an ability to hang in the air and fade away from her opponents. I was very impressed with the ease in which she scored with her back to the basket, she routinely found space by fading away and rising up over her defenders. She can also work out of the mid-post and create looks while her teammates cut on the back side of the play. On the defensive side of the floor, she routinely picked off lazy passes in the passing lane and always had her head up to cut off angles for her opponents to catch the ball. This allowed her to work on the fast break, and also spot up in the corners for easy jumpers in the midrange or beyond the arc.
Lauryn Wiggins 2027 5’5 Youree Drive, LA (O.W.E. Family Renegades 2026)
Lauryn is an aware point guard who sees every inch of the floor at a very high level. I was very impressed by her ability to make accurate and timely reads within the half court and full court offense. She always had her head up to make the right pass ahead to a streaking teammate. She displayed some tough and impressive one handed full court passes that hit her teammate in stride. She made timely reads within the half court offense as well, routinely finding cutting teammates underneath the rim.
Wiggins is an active defender as well, who is not afraid to get after loose balls and long rebounds. She constantly ended up on the floor and always seemed to come away with extra opportunities for her team. Her ability to move her feet and keep her opponents in front of her allowed her to make life difficult for her opposition. I would like to see her work on her ability to finish in the paint, as well as take shots from the perimeter when given the space to do so.
