Yakiya Milton Yakiya Milton 6'4" | PF Mandarin | 2024 FL 2023 (ECU Family 2023). It’s pregame of the ECU – Miami Sun game and Milton is warming up. She is running a layup drill and really elevating. I was in conversation with a D-3 coach from Illinois when Milton attempted a dunk and cleared the rim with ease. The coach turned to me and said ‘I don’t even recruit those type of kids.” Milton is a “top-notch player and she showed it on Day three of the Sunshine State Showdown. Milton ran the floor well and scored a few points in transition. Throughout the tournament, Milton showed she could score at all levels on the floor. Defensively, she played on the outside and defended the wings, and also played on the inside where she blocked some shots and changed a few more. Milton played very well and was a presence on the court, especially on the defensive end. She was relentless at crashing the boards and secured multiple extra possessions for her team. She was active in the pick and roll game and did a stellar job of freeing up her guards for easy shots.
Sydney Roundtree Sydney Roundtree 6'0" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL , F (ECU Family 2024) Roundtree was impressive inside the paint. She shot some nice midrange shots in the paint. She can also put the ball down and drive to the goal. Roundtree is at her best when she is running the floor and making plays in the transition game. Roundtree is very athletic and has a quick jump off of the floor. She uses her athleticism to block shots and to get some quick put-backs in the basket. Roundtree also does a good job of rebounding the ball on the defensive end of the court as well. She was equally impressive with her ability to fill the wing on the fast break and dish to the open teammate for an easy basket. Roundtree has a good vision and good timing when delivering passes to cutting teammates.
Gianna Corbitt Gianna Corbitt 6'1" | SF Blanche Ely | 2024 State FL , Center/Forward (Team Knight 2024 3SSB). Corbitt was a very imposing “big” on the court. She has the size, power, and quickness. The scary thing is that Corbitt is only going to get better and become even more dominant on the courts. Corbitt did show some dominance as she backed a defender all the way down and just overpowered them with a layup. Corbitt also showed explosiveness. The big center caught the ball in the paint and was at the rim with one dribble. Corbitt also showed play-making abilities from the center position. On one possession, she head-faked a three-point shot, penetrated the lane, and then kicked the pass to the open guard for the 3 point basket.
Clare Coyle Clare Coyle 6'1" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL F (ECU Family 2024) Coyle really played well at the Sunshine State Showdown. Coyle is a very high-energy player who plays at one speed the entire game, on the offensive and defensive ends. Coyle does an excellent job of filling the lanes and a lot of times she is out front on the break and catches a lot of passes for easy baskets. Coyle can shoot from all levels on the court, but she is more effective in the midrange area of the court. She has great hands, excellent footwork, and does a good job of finishing at the basket. Coyle also has the ability to put the ball down and drive to the goal. Crashing the boards is where Coyle shines. She is relentless at going for offensive and defensive rebounds.
