The 2024 rankings have been published. Please click here to view the updated list. South Florida is well represented with ten players inside the top 25. [player_tooltip player_id="217667" first="Kayla" last="Nelms"] (Miami Country Day) is near the top at No. 2 overall.
As always, there are plenty of good players as you move down the list.
Let’s look at those prospects...
[player_tooltip player_id="426380" first="Unique" last="Horton"] - Somerset Academy Silver Palms (PGH: 76)
[player_tooltip player_id="426380" first="Unique" last="Horton"] is a solid frontcourt prospect out of Somerset Academy Silver Palms. The 6-foot plus forward averaged 6.7 points, 10 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 41 percent from the field. Of her 229 rebounds, 98 came on the offensive end. She also recorded 3 or more rejections in eight games. Horton had four double-doubles and ten or more boards in 11 contests. Against Calvary Christian Academy (23-7), she had 13 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks. Horton also grabbed 15 boards against Miami Palmer Trinity and Miami Country Day. Increasing her overall shooting percentage could see Horton’s stock rise. Moreover, she should work on her free-throw shooting. However, Horton had enough quality games against good competition to put her in this spot.
Priya Alibhai - Miami Palmer Trinity (PGH: 96)
Priya Alibhai played on a strong Miami Palmer Trinity team that went 17-8 last season. The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 4.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Alibhai scored 13 points and grabbed eight boards while hitting three 3-pointers against Somerset Academy Silver Palms. Furthermore, she hit at least one 3-pointer in seven other contests. Alibhai’s height and ability to help on the glass (63 boards) could see her rise.
[player_tooltip player_id="243881" first="Alysha" last="Fenelus"] - Cardinal Newman (PGH: 125)
[player_tooltip player_id="243881" first="Alysha" last="Fenelus"] is one of many young players on Cardinal Newman’s roster. The Crusaders top seven scorers were all underclassmen. Fenelus averaged just over 4 points per game while hitting 18 3-pointers. She scored in double-figures in three games and had a season-high 15 points (four 3-pointers) against Miami Norland. She also had 13 points on four 3-pointers against King’s Academy. I think Cardinal Newman is a team you have to watch with Fenelus in the mix.
[player_tooltip player_id="221708" first="Rachael" last="Restrepo"] - Miami Lasalle (PGH: 197)
[player_tooltip player_id="221708" first="Rachael" last="Restrepo"] had some quality production for Miami LaSalle this past season. The 5-foot-4 prospect averaged 9.6 points, 3.3 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game. Moreover, Restrepo scored in double-figures in nine games. Against Divine Savior Academy, she scored a season-high 24 points and hit five 3-pointers. Restrepo also scored 20 points and knocked down four 3-pointers against Somerset Academy. Her ability to stretch the floor at a high volume was effective. On defense, she recorded four or more steals in seven games. Shooting better from the field and cutting down on her turnovers could see Restrepo make the next jump.
[player_tooltip player_id="349323" first="Nahilah" last="Clarke"] - Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian Academy (PGH: 195)
[player_tooltip player_id="349323" first="Nahilah" last="Clarke"] played on a Calvary Christian Academy team that went 23-7 overall and reached the 4A state final. The 5-foot-8 guard averaged 6.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 41 percent from the field. She scored in double-figures in seven games with a pair of double-doubles. Clarke had 12 points and 12 boards against Winter Haven (13-10) and 13 points and ten rebounds against Benjamin. Clarke also added a season-high four rejections against the Buccaneers. She has plenty of opportunity for more production with the graduation of two key seniors.
