Each of these kids brings incredible amounts of skill to the game and would help a program at the next level. If you haven’t gotten a chance to see these kids, I recommend you do soon. To be clear I’m not 100% what goes on behind the scenes recruiting-wise, but from the outside looking in these are kids who seem underrecruited.
Parker Johnson Parker Johnson 5'9" | SG Milwaukee Academy Of Science | 2024 State WI -Playground Club 2024 National
The Milwaukee native possesses one of the most diverse offensive skillsets I’ve seen. Johnson’s go-to is when she attacks the basket, and she’s an ambidextrous finisher. However, when she shoots the ball, it’s fluid. She looks confident when taking the shot. Numbers-wise, during the high school season, she didn’t shoot well, but I think with more volume, she can sit in the mid to upper 30% range. I’m sold on her game translating at the next level because she’s a competitive kid. Johnson’s ability to score both on and off the ball makes her an easy fit in any scheme, and her lateral quickness and strength will help her defend at the next level.
Adrianna Gonzalez Adrianna Gonzalez 5'7" | PG Indian Trail | 2024 State WI -Playground Club 2024 National
The main knock on Gonzalez is that she’s a slightly undersized off-ball guard. However, it never really seems to matter. Gonzalez always finds a way to score around the basket. She’s a good shooter. She gets downhill on plus defenders and makes scoring look easy. I’d say on the other end is where next-level coaches will have to get over her size. I think she brings enough on-ball pressure defensively to make her playable on that end and will probably surprise some people. Gonzalez still has time to develop and to prove her size doesn’t matter, but I think that won’t take too long.
Jenna Shea-Wisconsin Blaze 2023 Inferno
There aren’t more stories that I’ve enjoyed learning about more than Shea’s. She’s a 5-foot-11 wing who hasn’t played varsity basketball yet, but she brings a lot to the floor. She shoots the ball at a high level and has a lot of juice off the dribble. There is a lot of untapped potential within Shea’s game, and she may not peak for a few years. College coaches will only see one year of varsity basketball, but she’ll play in an elite Fox Valley Association and be a key piece on a Kimberly team that has a chance to be good.
Lucy Leininger-Chapman Basketball Academy 2023 Frings
Very few forwards who I think are more effective than the Germantown sophomore. The more I see her play, the less she makes sense to me. If you look at her on paper, she’s 5-foot-10 and plays the five everywhere she’s played. At every step of the way, she’s defended girls four to five inches taller and has been elite doing it. She’s gotten more diverse on the offensive end, and if she gets good enough on that end to offensively play at the three, she has a chance to be a unique prospect.
Ella Peters-Team Wisconsin 2023 Murray
The River Falls native has all the physical tools to be an unbelievable wing. Peters makes a play that nobody has any business making. If she has one foot in the paint, she can contest everything on that half of the floor, and that’s not an exaggeration. Peters has the length and athleticism to excel on the defensive end. Her main area for improvement is offensive consistency, but where she ends up may not even ask her to do, so it may not even matter. She’s an intriguing kid who should be getting plenty of looks this summer.
