[player_tooltip player_id="219721" first="Jetta" last="Mevold"] - Shanley - (5’10/SG/2024) - Jetta takes care of the ball. She’s a smart player that isn’t going to hurt her team on either end of the court. She’s most impressive when making the smart play such as the extra pass, shooting when needed, and hustling after loose balls. She’s a gritty player with a nice ceiling. I dare say she has the highest basketball IQ for Shanley, but she always seems to be playing chess while others are playing checkers. This year she averaged 5.7 points, 2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1 steal a game. Look for those numbers to increase times 2 as she steps into a bigger role for Shanley next year.
[player_tooltip player_id="243474" first="Paige" last="Breuer"] - Bismarck High - (5’5/CG/2024) - At standing 5’5 you wouldn’t think Paige was much of a ballplayer. Probably look at her and think she’s the generic guard that’s undersized and can shoot the ball... Boy, are you mistaken. There’s a lot of power in this 5’5 guard and she’s explosive! You know when Breuer is on the court, because of her impact on the game. She’s tough defensively and always hungry for the ball. Fast, strong and has a high basketball IQ. Paige is the type of player that’s at the right place at the right time on more than 1 occasion. She knows how to plays the passing game efficiently and threads the ball through defenders. A solid middie shot, but needs to establish that trey ball a bit more to be a real threat offensively. This year she averaged 8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1 steal a game.
[player_tooltip player_id="257903" first="Seely" last="Stockmoe"] - Shanley - (6’0/C/2024) - Seely is a long athletic post with solid footwork and a nice mid-range game. Stockmoe sets good screens and utilizes the pick-n-roll game nicely. The next level to her game will be expanding her ranged to the 3 as she becomes more of an offensive threat. This year Stockmoe averaged 5 points, 3.5 rebounds a game. She showed a lot of prowess in her best game this year against Fargo South having 16 points, 11 rebounds, 9 of which were offensive. Seely can be summed up as a lengthy post with a high ceiling.
[player_tooltip player_id="316034" first="Christena" last="Walker"] - Ellendale - (6’1/PF/2023) - Walker is long and athletic. She’s got to have a 6’5 wingspan and can run the floor like an elk. She’s so impressive to watch in the open court as she’s established such great footwork in the paint to 13 feet from the hoop. This year Walker averaged 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game leading District 5/6 in the block category. With the right personnel returning for the Cardinals Christena should be primed for a double-double a night a senior year.
[player_tooltip player_id="218143" first="Mia" last="Berryhill"] - Bismarck Legacy - (5’7/CG/2024) - [player_tooltip player_id="218143" first="Mia" last="Berryhill"]... What a name! Mia is an off-the-dribble shooter that has range. She carries a lot of basketball nuances that we as scouts, players, and coaches often forget. She comes off screens with a purpose to get open, her pivot footwork is above her grade and she sees the court like a deer running in the night. Apart from her basketball site, she’s fast, athletic, and can run with the best of the guards in Class A. What really separates Berryhill is she’s a lefty. A trait that can’t just be taught, but is often extremely deadly when guarding considering above 92% of ballplayers are right-handed. This year she averaged 7 points, 3 assists, and 1.5 steals a game. Listen for the name Berryhill next year as I’m sure it’s going to be a name that rings through the announcer’s mouth every night Legacy steps on the floor.
