She knows when to change speeds and can shift directions quickly to get defenders off balance. Jones has a low center of gravity, turning the corner and spurting into the heart of the defense. She uses a trust floater to score over length. The Region 6-4A Player of the Year is a true point guard.

</strong>[player_tooltip player_id="425812" first="Destiny" last="Givens"] made a positive impression at point guard vs. the Lady Grinders. She’s a steady scorer that likes to get to the rim. She is equipped to play an up-tempo game and provided on-ball pressure in run-and-jump situations that trapped opposing guards. She put up 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks.
<strong>2023 5-7 G Sydney Smith – Bounce Nation Meg – Langston Hughes
</strong>Listed around 5-foot-7, Smith has the length and energy that makes her seem taller. She scored on putbacks, mid-range jumpers and drives as she produced 16 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals. Smith could be a candidate for a breakout senior season which will put her on college radars.
<strong>2024 5-5 G [player_tooltip player_id="253971" first="Paris" last="Fillingame"] – FBC Hoopstarz – Collins Hill
</strong>[player_tooltip player_id="253971" first="Paris" last="Fillingame"] and fill it up. While she is certainly on the smaller side of the scale for guards, her three-point shot is the great equalizer. She has deep range and can catch fire quickly if not held in check.
<strong>2023 5-9 SG [player_tooltip player_id="154606" first="Amelia" last="Shoemaker"] – DL Impact – North Hall
</strong>Shoemaker did a little bit of everything in a 48-42 win. She hit open threes, facilitated and used her length to disrupt things on defense. Amelia posted 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. When Shoemaker is playing with confidence and in the right system, she can be very productive.
