One coach in this region told me before the game that he felt like Lumpkin County and North Hall both could beat any team in the region on a given night. That was very apparent as the game was back and forth all night with both teams shooting the ball exceptionally well from behind the three point line. Halfway through the third quarter I told the same coach both of these teams could score 70 in the game. That almost happened as North Hall defeated Lumpkin 70-64 to advance in the region tournament where they will play number one seed Greater Atlanta Christian on Thursday. I watched North Hall beat GAC earlier in the year and that will be another tremendous matchup.

Ball picked right back up where she left off the last time I saw her. She is an elite shooter from both the midrange as well as three point range. Ball plays fast and uses her quickness well to push the ball out on the break and blowing by defenders and getting to the basket in the half court. Ball has very good ball handling as well, she is particularly good utilizing spin moves which she does regularly. Ball is very good on defense, in this game she jumped in the passing lane late, with the game still close, and was at the other end of the court laying the ball up before you could blink. Ball finished the game 24 points, making 6 of North Hall's three point shots. How did this kid not make All Region?!?

Wyse impressed me very much the first time I saw her against GAC with her constant movement and activity. Wyse does an excellent job defending in North Hall's press with long arms and active hands. She did a nice job anticipating passes and jumping in the passing lane. Offensively, Wyse is a very good shooter and more than capable driver who can score at the rim. Malorie finished the game with 14 points including four- three point shots made. She is a very skilled young player with a bright future alongside fellow freshman guard Ball.

Camille is one of the very best young point guards in Georgia. Her fundamentals are as good as anyone dribbling, passing, and shooting the ball. It is subtle, but impressive. One play in the game Nix received the ball against Lumpkin's full court press, turned, surveyed the floor, then took a couple dribbles before firing a pass with her left hand 3/4 length of the court on a dime. Her game is subtle but very effective. She gets the ball to the primary scorers on her team first, but has the ability to put up big numbers scoring the ball as well- recently scoring 26 points in a game for North Hall.

Richardson dominated the game in stretches and kept Lumpkin close until the very end. Reagan looks like a college player right now standing over 6' tall and clearly has been in the weight room. She did not just rely on her size and strength in this game, but showed great footwork and agility on her way to leading the Indians in scoring with 20 points. Reagan ran the floor and cut to the basket to great effect finding herself wide open for lay ups under the basket. She also did a nice job sitting down on the block, sealing her defender, and meeting the pass before making a move and quickly getting the ball up to the basket. Richardson has a chance to make a considerable jump in the rankings after a few more observations and more stellar play.

Lindley was another player who shot the ball lights out from deep, especially from the corners, finishing the game with 15 points for Lumpkin County. Alayna was recently honored with Honorable Mention All Region in the very tough 6AAA and it was evident why with her play. Lindley has very good size for a guard and is long with a high release helping her get shots off when defenders were close or closing out. Lindley knew her spots and did a nice job getting to them, getting set and ready to shoot, and converting tough shots when the ball got to her.

Lee did an excellent job both facilitating the offense with the ball in her hands at the point at times, especially on the break where she found open teammates time and time again and delivered a pass where they could get a quick shot off. She did an especially nice job getting the ball inside to Richardson. Lee also scored when the opportunity arose. She had one very nice drive in the first half going left hesitating and then accelerating to the rim and knocking down a floater. Lee is also a very good shooter from deep also scoring from three point range for her team.
