In Council Bluffs, players showed out, and today I want to highlight a few in particular. The players I'm going to mention rose their stock due to their fine play over the weekend. Without further ado, let's get into some stock risers.
[player_tooltip player_id="338947" first="Lauren" last="Strifling"]-Chapman Basketball Academy 2023 Frings
Strifling was a role player with limited minutes off the bench in high school. This weekend, the 5-foot-11 forward showed the versatility in her game. She can knock down jumpers, play in the mid-post area, and use her length to finish around the basket. On defense, she can defend everywhere on the floor. I think she can defend on the perimeter for extended periods. She can use her length and agility to change games on that end, and her ability to score at all levels make her an intriguing kid in the 2025 class.
[player_tooltip player_id="206580" first="Taylor" last="Jacobson"]-Let it Rain 2023 Black
I loved how Jacobson played this weekend. There weren't many players who excelled in every game consistently the way Jacobson did. She used her athleticism to attack the basket with a purpose, and she showed off her ability to knock down perimeter jumpers regularly. She's a legit 5-foot-10 wing who can defend at a high level and brings a legitimate offensive punch when it's needed.
Addalyn Rooney-Omaha Supreme 2025 Wharton
There weren't any better 2025s that I saw than Rooney. On both ends of the floor, she absolutely ripped her opposition apart. The 5-foot-5 guard made countless jumpers, both uncontested and contested. Rooney also defended like crazy at the point of attack. She has quick hands, and Rooney used them to create live and dead ball turnovers. She was the most influential player I got to see all weekend, and it will be interesting to watch her develop over the next few years.
[player_tooltip player_id="329550" first="Attison" last="Zeuske"]-Wisconsin Blaze 2025 Black
I don't think many kids shot the ball better than Zeuske this weekend. Every time she got a look, I fully believed that it would fall. She's an athletic 5'foot-7 guard who thrived with the opportunity and could do the same with a talented Kimberly team this coming year. Watch her over the next year because she could be in for an uptick in her role and production this year.
[player_tooltip player_id="434024" first="Adahlyn" last="Hoerl"]-Wisconsin Blaze 2025 Black
Even though Hoerl is a 2025 prospect, she already has good size to play as a lead guard. She's 5-foot-9 and has a great combination of speed and strength. I loved her ability to turn the corner in the pick and roll. Hoerl also understands when to attack and when to set their offense back up. She may not do many flashy things, but she'll take care of a good offense given the talent around her, and that's what she did this weekend. Even when her team started off poorly in a game, she did an excellent job staying poised and guiding her team to a win.
