2022/2023 Arizona GBB Must See Teams

Canyon View: The Lady Jaguars are coming off a 22-3 record. The Jaguars season came to end by falling in the quarterfinals of the 5A State Tournament. The Jaguars are lead by [player_tooltip player_id="205657" first="Madison" last="Reibel"]. Look for the Jaguars to have another really good year. Catalina Foothills: Catalina is coming off a 16-8 season. They are led by seniors [player_tooltip player_id="208047" first="Reilly" last="Clark"] and Katey Burns. The Lady Falcons look to improve on their record from last year and contend in Class 5A. Cibola: The Lady Raiders are coming off a 22-4 season.  The Lady Raiders will be led by Rori Hoffmeyer, Caylie Holyfield, and Kiara Hinton. Cibola is a very talented team with a ton of size and athleticism. I was really impressed with their length and ability to dominate in the paint. Cibola will look to be a contender in 6A this upcoming season. Deer Valley: The Deer Valley Lady Skyhawks are coming off a 25-3 record. Their season came to end after a quarterfinal lost in the 4A state tournament. The Lady Skyhawks are a very deep and talented team. They have size, speed and ability to make it rain from three. Look for this team to make some noise in the upcoming season. Flagstaff: Flagstaff is coming off a very successful 16-2 season. The eagles have a lot of depth and can shoot it exceptionally well from 3. The Eagles will be led by [player_tooltip player_id="261416" first="Sage" last="Begay"]. Expect Flagstaff to have another really good season. Mountain Ridge: Mountain Ride is coming off a 23-4 record last season. Miyah Verse plays a huge role in the success for Mountain Ridge. She holds multiple Division 1 offers and is an all around talent. The Mountain Lions also return [player_tooltip player_id="261427" first="Hannah" last="Uhlenhop"] and Janae Floyd as top players. Mountain Ridge will look to contend in a very difficult 6A class. Poston Butte: The Lady Broncos are coming off an 18-9 record and looking to improve. They will be led by [player_tooltip player_id="261402" first="Adriana" last="Bachman"], Alex Swanson and Symirah Gray. The Lady Broncos will surely make some noise in 4A this upcoming season. Sandra Day O’ Connor: The Lady Eagles are coming off of a 17-6 season and will be lead by seniors [player_tooltip player_id="138096" first="Kaitlyn" last="Elsholz"], [player_tooltip player_id="208709" first="Katy" last="Frost"] and Makaylei Snyder. The Lady eagles play with a ton of energy and communicate so well on the defensive end of the court. Look for the Lady Eagles to be one of the top teams in Arizona this next season. Southern Arizona Prep: Southern Arizona Prep is coming off a 14-4 Season. This team has a ton of talent including: Anchol Magot, Aj Lual, and [player_tooltip player_id="65615" first="Mirella" last="Funari"]. The Lady Vols will have an array of players that score at any given time. Paired with size and speed, Southern AZ Prep will be a very difficult opponent this upcoming season. Sunnyside: The Lady Blue Devils finished last season with a 14-11 record. They are lead by [player_tooltip player_id="263400" first="Nayeli" last="Nidez-Acuna"], Gabriella Delgado and Lexi Delgado. The Lady Blue Devils will continue to get better and be another very talented team in 5A this upcoming season. Thatcher: The Thatcher Lady Eagles are coming off an impressive 19-3 season. They fell in the quarterfinals of the 3A state tournament this past season. Haley Nicholas and Ashlyn Thompson are their top returners. Thatcher will be a very talented team this upcoming year.
