Thursday, Feb 19th I watched the Sweet-16 match-up with #5 Campo Verde of 5A hosting #21 Valley Vista of 6A. The headliner was [player_tooltip player_id='852321' first='Jaiyana' last='Bogan-Jacobs'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='625055' first='Kinsey' last='Murray'] as two of the better guards in the AIA. Campo Verde defeated Valley Vista 56-39 with a coast to coast win to advance to the Elite-8.

Campo Verde will play #4 Sandra Day O'Connor in a big time match-up next Thursday.

Here were the standouts of the night

[player_tooltip player_id='852321' first='Jaiyana' last='Bogan-Jacobs'] Campo Verde (Pictured)

A bigger point guard does it all for her team. She will score it with offensive rebound put backs, floaters, mid range pull-ups, moves without the ball for layups, runners and will take the ball off the glass and go coast to coast with ease. She had a gaudy stat line of 19 points 10 rebounds 2 assists 2 steals and 1 block. I have not seen many more competitive players with the desire to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1050008' first='K'Dynce' last='Parks'] Campo Verde

A fast and athletic small forward can score with offensive rebound put backs, and-1's, left or right hand layups, catch and shoot threes, she is super fast on the break after she collects a bunch of steals and tough euro steps. She finished with 18 points and a bunch of steals with her natural energy and athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='1197249' first='Jayda' last='Haley'] Campo Verde

A tough wing forward can play some of the off guard position as well. She is extremely tough and rebounds with a big motor to compete. She will score with tough ball fakes into layups, rebound the ball and take it coast to coast and finish it off with euro steps and get downhill with layups. She scored 12 points with 9 important rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='780444' first='MacKenzie' last='Lewis'] Campo Verde

A scoring point guard who can handle some of the ball pressure for the Coyotes. She is scrappy on defense and will collect steals and scores it with mid-range pull-ups and quick downhill takes getting herself to the free throw line. She finished with 7 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1764879' first='Lulu' last='Busari'] Valley Vista

A tough senior wing forward has the grit and skill to hang with the tough Campo guards. She grabs rebounds in and out of her area and will score it with cuts off the ball, steals which led to layups and offensive rebound put backs. She scored 8 points with 5+ rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='625055' first='Kinsey' last='Murray'] Valley Vista

A skilled scoring point guard had some needle threaders to her teammates and rebounds the ball well for a guard. She is a natural scorer with threes off the catch, and-1 bursts of speed with either hand in traffic and gets herself to the free throw line. She scored 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='797281' first='Emma' last='Bremer'] Valley Vista

The tallest girl on the floor by a lot did not get a whole lot of touches but was effective when she did. She is a top notch rebounder and will block shots using her length and timing. She is a very good passer for a post player finding a teammate. She uses a polished drop step move that will help moving forward in her career.

[player_tooltip player_id='602941' first='Deja' last='Strong'] Valley Vista

A tough power forward can play the game from inside and out. The southpaw will rebound in and out of her area and score on put backs. She also will step out from mid-range and even extend to the three point line. She scored 6 points with multiple rebounds off the bench, as she is coming back from an injury.

[player_tooltip player_id='749674' first='Braya' last='Neal-Tiffany'] Valley Vista

An undersized but tough point guard comes with some skill. She will rebound in her area and make a play for a teammate. She scores with downhill bursts and threes off the catch. She can take pressure off of Murray handling the ball. She scored 5 points with a couple of assists.
