The event featured some of the top local AAU clubs with some up and coming talent. I was able to attend the event on the final day, Sunday June 19 and here’s a look at some additional top standouts I saw.
1. Jada Taylor Jada Taylor 5'1" | PG Etiwanda | 2024 State CA – Etiwanda 2024
Taylor was a small, but aggressive point guard. A good ball-handler who pushes the pace well in transition and can go coast to coast and finish. She keeps the ball moving and tries to make the right pass and find the right balance between scoring and playmaking. A consistent threat to beat her defender off the dribble but she wasn’t always able to finish over size. Defensively, she slides her feet well and does a good job cutting off the ball-handler’s movement.
2. Alondra Lizama – Bishop Alemany 2023
Lizama was solid post player. In the games I saw, she tried hard to get good position in the paint. She can finish well and she can pass out of the post too. Does a good job cutting and coming to the ball in baseline out of bounds situations. Runs the floor well and finishes in transition. She times her rebounds well and rebounds with two hands with good box outs. Defensively she can contest shots in the paint and she has the foot speed to keep up with guards.
3. Taylor Rosado – Los Osos 2023
Rosado was a solid wing who showed off a consistent ability to attack off the dribble. Slashes well to the rim and she can finish strong through contact. She hit defenders with a little Euro-step a couple of times and she was also able to draw contact and get herself to the free-throw line. She kept her team in one game I saw with her drives to the rim. She can pass well off the dribble too. She has good length and fights hard on the glass. Sets good screens for a wing.
4. Bella Harmon – Cal Storm Team Taurasi 15U
I’m not sure I saw Harmon score much at all, but she impacted one of the games I saw with her defensive ability. She plays strong on-ball defense and picks up full court. She slides her feet well in the halfcourt. She does a good job denying the pass and she’s able to get deflections that lead to turnovers. She was also consistently diving on the floor for loose balls including ones she knocked free from her defense.
