Ai’Naya Williams (Cardinal Ritter): A 6’2″ forward who is starting to come into her own as an all-around force for the Lions. She had a dominant performance in the Lions’ second game against Battle that I watched. She has multiple ways to beat defenders on offense with her size and skill set. She operates well in the high-low set with her passing up high and her catching down low. She also has an excellent touch from 15 to 17 feet. She can handle drive the ball and lead the fast break herself after grabbing a rebound. She will rebound out of her area and block and alter shots on defense.
Adalyn Koelling Adalyn Koelling 6'1" | SF Helias Catholic | 2024 State MO (Helias): The 6’1″ forward displayed her usual versatile game during the afternoon in a pair of victories. She is capable of stretching the floor with her 3-point shooting and she can facilitate offense with her ball handling and passing skills. She can also impact a game on defense with her length as she can block a shot down low or get a deflection or steal on the perimeter.
Ashtyn Klusmeyer Ashtyn Klusmeyer 5'11" | SF Hickman | 2024 State MO (Hickman): A versatile 5’11″ forward who has an impressive skill set in the low post and on the perimeter. She catches the ball well inside and can put defenders in the blender with her spin moves, footwork and un-and-under moves. It was fun to watch her work in the post. That was only part of her game as she can also step out and knock down 3-pointers and also put the ball on the floor and attack off the dribble.
Hannah Wallace Hannah Wallace 6'0" | SF Cardinal Ritter | 2024 State MO (Cardinal Ritter): A 6’0 small forward who was one of the best athletes at the event. She is an elite defensive player who can guard point guards and post players with equal effectiveness. She can also hit the catch and shoot 3-pointer with the time and space. She rebounds well and she is a good secondary ball handler.
Jade Anderson (Capital City): A 5’10″ forward who has good athleticism and a blue collar work ethic around the basket. She catches the ball well in traffic and she had a very effective drop step to score. She did a good job of keeping the ball up high. She played with excellent effort and I was impressed with her quick second and third jump around the basket for rebounds and putbacks.
Lucy Elftink (Hickman): A 6’1″ forward who plays a very solid inside game. She sets good screens and she establishes good position in the low post. She is also very mobile and I like how she runs the court to grab position in the post in the early offense. She does a lot of little things well to help her team.
Laura Babbitt (Liberty North): A solid 5’11″ forward who had a nice presence on the defensive end with her length and mobility. She’s a good athlete who did a good job rotating over to block shots and get steals. She has good instincts and she put herself in the right position to make plays.
