The gym had plenty of talent that's for sure this past week at the North Charleston Athletic Center. Who were some of the 2024 Top Performers in the event? Prep Girls Hoops has your answers right here.
[player_tooltip player_id="185224" first="Terriana" last="Gray"] - AC Flora HS (pictured on front)
Gray was up to her usual play with us in attendance. Terriana never seems to disappoint with her play on the floor. She has great versatility to play multiple positions on the floor. Terriana has a great nose for the ball and always to be right around it. She plays her best basketball it seems when she is attacking the cup. Gray runs on the Grassroots Circuit with SC Future 17U Black playing up an age bracket.

[player_tooltip player_id="175350" first="Jasmine" last="Frierson"] - Hartsville HS
Frierson is in the Pee Dee this season after playing last year at AC Flora HS. Jasmine a point guard will log a lot of minutes this season for the Lady Red Foxes and Head Coach Justin Johnson. Frierson feels comfortable knocking down the 15–17-foot jump shot from time to time. She was able to split the ball-screen and drop some floaters in the lane today. Frierson does a really good job of using her body to fight off contact while going to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="253655" first="Andrea" last="Duncan"] - James Island HS
Duncan will be relied on a lot this season for the Lady Trojans to score the ball. Andrea connected on some mid-range jumpers and always seemed to be ready to shoot the rock.
[player_tooltip player_id='484519' first='Armani' last='Johnson'] - Timberland HS (St Stephen)
Johnson was a new name for the database that's for sure. I even liked the idea better that she was just a junior. Armani is a rim-runner on the floor. Armani ran the floor very well and has the ability to defend on the perimeter. Johnson remained active the whole game long and when she did score from time to time it was close to the cup. Armani is still a RAW talent for the Lady Wolves and Head Coach Allen Gethers Jr.

[player_tooltip player_id="421323" first="Imari" last="Humphrey"] - Spring Valley HS
Imari played with her back to the basket today and showed to be light on her feet around the paint. Humphrey even at times brought the ball up the floor in transition. I can't honestly say I had not seen her until today play and I was a bit disappointed in myself. Imari at times played with a bit of a mean streak and competitive spirit. Humphrey has long arms and a good upside to make her very productive down low at times.
** Humphrey and Johnson could be some late bloomers down the road!!

[player_tooltip player_id="266052" first="Trinity" last="Baker"] - Legion Collegiate (Rock Hill)
Baker plays her role very well more the less as the 3rd guard on this Lady Lancers team. Trinity stepped up and came up with some timely steals and buckets today. Trinity tends to play better at times off the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="305504" first="Makayla" last="Waiters"] - Stall HS (North Charleston)
Waiters continued her solid play carrying it over from the Charleston Southern Team Camp. Makayla plays the game mostly from the point guard position but today she was able to knockdown some shots on the perimeter. Waiters does a good job of penetrating the gaps and finding the open teammate.

[player_tooltip player_id="206616" first="Isabella" last="Woods"] - Bishop England
Woods showed a lot of leadership on the floor today for the Lady Bishops. Isabella was able to penetrate-kick to open teammates along with pushing the tempo up the floor. Woods sees the floor very well and plays the game as a pass 1st point guard. She was vocal with her teammates and always in communication. Woods will be relied on a lot this season by veteran Head Coach Paul Runey to guide the ship. The Lady Bishops lost 10 players to graduation from last season's team.

[player_tooltip player_id="271877" first="Karis" last="Alexander"] - Clover HS
Alexander and her teammates ran into a buzz saw a few times today. Karis a left-handed wing player really plays the game active in the passing lane. The Blue Eagles will have a young roster this season for new Head Coach Shakkia Walker.
