The most important thing is I will have ROSTERS, a few will have errors, yet I will have what I NEED
I talk about this over and over, it’s sad I have to yet the cluelessness just amazes me and I think about this irate mom going off on me for not watching her daughter’s 6th-grade team saying “you can’t watch a good game, and go ask the coach who the players are later” and I tried to explain the time I WASTE doing that stops me from seeing other players, by the way, that good game was 14-10 so I’m sort of getting tired of this, it’s really sad but I have a few from the division so here we go
Makayla Davis-Hall (San Antonio Premier)
Hall may not be related to Arsenio or Carnegie yet “SHE WILL BE A HIT” and yes, I’ve used that before, but also YES, I know what I’m talking about, and let me start this off with “she’s long and athletic” and that IS the base I use as well as many college coaches yet her intangibles are already sticking out as she enters the 7th grade I believe. She plays the passing lane and can handle the ball in the open court after the steal and her ability to finish with either hand after contact speaks volumes at this stage, but so does her pull-up jumper. She creates her shot while being defended and drops it with a hand in her face but her COP, “change of pace” is pretty impressive as well. She also defends, on the ball, but her upside is scary as I’m on the verge of calling her a #D1Lock
Alaina Wright (San Antonio Premier)
Wright used her size and frame nicely in the paint, loved her hands and footwork as she scored around the basket yet rebounded strongly on both ends and yes, she scored on putbacks. She also showed she could not only put it on the floor and attack the basket, but she also has a nice pull-up jumper as well
Graciela “Gracie” Galvan (San Antonio Lady Hoops Purple)
Galvan has been running around the gym for what seems like forever and after watching her older sister, Gabby, impress me for the past 3 or 4 seasons, this young lady has already left a lasting impression and that started a few weeks ago. I love things you can’t teach and she’s polished running the 1 right now. Her upside is scary and seeing her not only “control the tempo” but her making solid passes in traffic just keeps me smiling. She can score off the dribble, her fakes, and THE HEZ are light years ahead, plus she can drop the jumper
Tayza Peavy (San Antonio Lady Hoops Purple)
Peavy is “long and athletic”, again that is THE BASE, and watching her watch the floor anticipating the pass had me smiling. Playing the passing lane is also one of those things you can’t teach, you JUST DO IT, no matter what the platform is, and that as well as her timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots will translate into big things doe the road. She rebounds on both ends, well she also runs both ends of the court and has some pretty impressive upside
