The Summer Jam tournament that took place June 17-19 had many teams from North Dakota and South Dakota participate. It’s a perfect event to really breakdown the talent in the Dakotas for PGH Dakotas. The goal is to catch every team and mention some standouts, stock-risers, new names, and names to know. A series of articles will hit the site in the coming weeks as the games are viewed.

[player_tooltip player_id="378262" first="Emily" last="Ash"] - 5’6 PG 2023 - Dickinson - Missouri River Elite - [player_tooltip player_id="378262" first="Emily" last="Ash"] was a major stock-riser from this event. She was the leading guard for MRE and was a major playmaker for them. Per Tournament Depot she scored 62 points and led the team for an average of 15.5 ppg. She was aggressive offensively, and knew she had to take on a scoring role from the point guard position. She showed quick feet and overall suddenness and playing speed. She was in attack-mode and shot the ball well and did a lot of damage from three. She was also aggressive and explosive in getting to the hoop. If I’m an NAIA school, I’m targeting the guard from Dickinson High School. She’ll be one to watch closely in her Senior season. She could be a surprise top 10 scorer in the WDA.
Stock-risers and New Names
[player_tooltip player_id="458162" first="Lauren" last="Selle"] - 5’8 G/F 2025 - Dickinson - Missouri River Elite - Lauren stood-out as a young prospect with good length, movement, and athleticism. She ran the court well and has good fluidity to her. She loves to push the ball and get up and down the court quickly. Loves driving at the hoop in a straight-line fashion. She can drive and pull-up before the hoop. I can see some upside and potential with her. Lauren will be ranked in the next update.
[player_tooltip player_id="458121" first="Taylor" last="Odden"] - 5’8 G/F 2024 - Bismarck Legacy - Missouri River Elite - Taylor is a prospect I really liked that I didn’t know much about. She rebounded well and attacked it up in the air. Boxes out consistently. She has good size as a wing that can battle inside as well. Good overall movement and runs well. Will get down and defend with energy and form. She can attack off the dribble and put up a jumper in the lane. I’m unsure of her upcoming varsity role, but she is a capable overall player and athlete.
[player_tooltip player_id="458103" first="Kinzie" last="Hoff"] - 5’11 F 2024 - Dickinson - Missouri River Elite - Kinzie has good length and is also a solid athlete and mover. Also, a versatile athlete that can play a wing and get aggressive inside. She’ll attack the offensive boards hard. Moves very well without the ball and was a solid scorer with a total of 24 points. Has the ability to step out and shoot the three. Kinzie is an overall solid prospect with size and skill to be a consistent varsity contributor.
Notable Names
[player_tooltip player_id="362924" first="Caton" last="Pearcy"] - 5’10 G 2023 - Dickinson - Missouri River Elite - Caton scored 18 total points and showed excellent skill with the ball as a ball-handler. I had her as a SF, but she was handling the ball at a high level and had some skilled moves.
[player_tooltip player_id="362927" first="Abbey" last="Dutke"] - 6’0 F 2024 - Dickinson - Missouri River Elite - Abbey is a six-footer that can play away from the hoop. She had an 11 point game and is a prospect with some promise as an away from the hoop six-footer. If her playing speed improves, she’ll take her game to the next level.
