PGH Battle in the Sunflower took place on the courts in Wichita, KS. I was excited to cover all the talent that this tournament brought in and day one did not disappoint.

[player_tooltip player_id='396411' first='Sadie' last='Spray'] ━ 2024 ━ Great Bend, KS ━ 5'8 ━ PG/SG ━ @spray_sadie

Sadie is a high energy player whose motor never quits. She flies around the court with the ability to get lots of deflections and create turnovers. She is quick to the glass and has a knack for knowing where the ball is coming off the rim. She has the ability to score in transition but also possesses great vision to find the open shooter. Sadie has a quick 1st step and attacks the rim with purpose.

[player_tooltip player_id="231271" first="Adrian" last="Hazelwood"] ━ 2024 ━ Smoky Valley, KS ━ 5'8 ━ PG/SG ━ @adrianjae00

Adrian is a scorer. She attacks the rack with her quickness and finishes around the rim at a high percentage. She is a strong, physical player with the strength to rip through pressure and finish in the paint against contact. The most impressive aspect of her game is her ability to score from the outside. She can shoot the 3, has a nice step back shot, as well as the ability to pull up and sink a 3 or mid range jumper. She's not afraid to go in and rebound either. Excellent scorer and scores in bunches.

[player_tooltip player_id='204893' first='Ashlynn' last='Arnsman'] ━ 2023 ━ Unity, IL ━ 6'0 ━ F/P

Ashlynn is a very physical Stretch Forward who can score and create a mismatch for her defender. She attacks the rim and is able to finish through contact as she had multiple and 1 opportunities throughout the weekend. She also has an excellent mid range jumper. She is athletic, has good length, and is strong. She does a lot of her work off the ball by using screens and cuts to get herself open. Ashlynn is an excellent passer with great vision and a basketball I.Q. She is a high motor kid who is always hustling which allows her to be a quick defender who gets lots of deflections and guards her yard. Fantastic rebounder: Finishes with a put back or starts the fast break with her vision and ability to get the ball up the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='297345' first='Kaylee' last='Denker'] ━ 2023 ━ Lincoln, NE ━ 6'0 ━ C/F ━ @KayleeDenker1

Kaylee has a big time ability to finish around the rim. Her footwork definitely stands out while watching her play, you can tell she has put in a lot of time with it. She is tall and lengthy and defensively she makes it hard to pass when she's guarding you. Her passing also stands out due to her excellent vision and the ability to find her open teammates. She does a great job of timing her passes and well as putting touch on them.

[player_tooltip player_id='436294' first='Avery' last='Barber'] ━ 2023 ━ St. Joe Central, MO ━ 5'9 ━ SF @averyb30

Avery is definitely a standout on the floor. She is fast in the full court and in the half court. She's an extremely tough and strong kid. She has a very quick first step and attacks the rack with a purpose. Avery also has the ability to shoot the 3 ball which makes her even more dangerous to guard because you cant give her a step or she will make you pay from the outside but if you guard too close, she's going to attack. Avery shows great leadership and commands the offense while on the floor. Creates a lot of deflections and turnovers defensively.
