Continue ReadingNo. 1 – If Emaya Lewis Emaya Lewis 6’3″ | C Loganville | 2024 State GA can replicate the improvement she made from Year 1 to Year 2 over the next two seasons, she could become scary good. At nearly 6-foot-4, Lewis is as long as they come. She won Class 5A Most Improved Player last season, seeing her numbers jump to 14.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. Lewis’ coordination and functional strength improved greatly. Now, she is confident collecting rebounds and pushing the ball coast-to-coast. She has shown flashes of a three-point shot and has become a reliable scorer off post touches. Mid-Major and Low Major schools have offered this summer.
No. 2 – The explosive lower body strength of Olivia Hutcherson Olivia Hutcherson 6’0″ | PF Holy Innocents’ | 2023 State GA is college-ready. She’s a true double-double machine with her rebounding and ability to score through traffic. Olivia runs the floor well and has enough mobility and ball handling to attack from the wing in spurts. Harvard, Penn, Boston, Elon ad UMKC have all offered the High Academic All-State forward
No. 3 – Jessica Fields Jessica Fields 6’1″ | PF Mt. Paran | 2025 State GA proved to be the X-Factor in Mt. Paran’s state title run. Power 5 schools and Mid-Majors have offered the long-armed rim protector. Fields is a game-changer on defense. She has great hands, blocking shots and converting putbacks inside. Jessica knocks down the mid-range jumper and has the quickness to attack with the bounce.
No. 4 – Mercer locked up another homegrown Bear in Ari Dyson. The Luella product blends physicality with finesse. Ari is a banger inside that pounds the glass for the full 32 minutes. She uses strong post moves, implementing up-and-unders and drop steps with elbows wide to carve out space. Dyson runs the floor well and can handle in transition.
No. 5 – A move from Parkview to Brookwood will allow Weathersby to play with a title contender. In her debut season in Georgia, Jade averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. She has a High Major frame, athletic with good shoulders to pack muscle onto. Weathersby’s mobility and athleticism overwhelm most inside.
No. 6 – Harris has flown under the radar as one of the best bigs the state has to offer. The high academic post likes to mix it up in the paint. She’s a physical rebounder and scorer that has clean footwork. Harris finishes with both hands inside, can hit the jumper and attack off the dribble.
No. 7 – The Georgia State-commit is a paint monster that averaged 18.3 points, 14 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. She blocked 18 shots in a travel game this year. Hunt understands how to use her size around the rim.
