Jenna is a rising 8th grade and proved she can play with older competition. Last season at East Bridgewater she played on a the JV team as just a 7th grader. Jenna is a tough gritty Point Guard, who plays well within the flow of the teams offense. Jenna has a high basketball IQ. She takes a smart shot section and can run the offense for the team. She can also step outside and hit the three pointer. When Jenna does not have the ball in her hands, she is always cutting hard with a purpose. She has good court vision and makes players around her better. Jenna is still young but has showed that she has a lot of potential, and is hard working.
Grace was one of the most unselfish players I saw at the showcase. She has a very high basketball IQ, and a great feel for the game. Grace took some of the strongest takes to the rim I saw during the event. When she took it to the rim, she did a good job drawing in the defense, and kicking it out to the open teammate. At times I think she played a little bit too unselfish, and I would like to see her be a bit more assertive. She goes so strong to the rim, I think she could be hard to stop. She makes players around her better, and takes care of the ball. Grace is a smart and skilled player, with a high level ceiling.
Julia is a very high energy player. I especially liked her energy on the defensive side of the floor. She was very active, always communicating and played tough. She fight through screens very hard, and worked hard to get over the screens. She was also great pressuring on the ball handlers. On offense she is a combo Guard who can play on or off the ball. She is often the first person to dive on the floor. She can score the ball, sets good screens, and also set up the offense. A very gritty player, with good upside to her game.
Highlights
Ava is a Point Guard, who does what ever she can to help the team. Her drive and determination is unmatched, and she has a great attitude on the floor. In the tournament she was able to score in multiple ways. She could get to the rim, score in transition, shoot from the outside, and also score off screens or cuts. She is a Point Guard who can facilitate the offense, and is a leader on the floor. Ava is a good two player, and showed in particular at the showcase, how she has a variety of ways she can score.
Highlights
Ella had a good showing at the showcase. She might not be the tallest player on the floor, but she has the ability to score over bigger defenders, and create separation. She is really improving her overall game, and becoming more comfortable being the teams leading Point Guard when on the floor. She is more assertive and playing with confidence. Lots of potential for Ella.
