Continue ReadingI wrote earlier this month in my article about the first nine debuters in the 2025 class rankings that the addition of 17 prospects in the latest rankings update caused the number of prospects included to grow by more than 40%. Below is the remaining eight debuters listed in ranked order. There is a broad range between those I have seen play a fair amount and those I know little about right now but deserve to be included due to honors they have already earned.
Addison Budke Addison Budke 6'1" | C Beloit | 2025 State KS , 6’0″, C/PF, Beloit – Budke has good hands and transition. Gets to the rack in a hurry off the mid-court steal. Budke also was a first team Kansas Volleyball Association 3A first team selection a season ago.
Jorja Harris Jorja Harris 5'7" | SG St. Paul | 2025 State KS , SG/SF, St. Paul, KS Cy-Fair Elite – A player I saw for the first time at the June MAYB Summer Kickoff in Wichita. What I came away with was Harris was a consistent and solid all-around player for the team.
Savannah Phillips Savannah Phillips 5'9" | SF Arkansas City | 2025 State KS , 6’0″, SF/PF, Arkansas City, KS Cy-Fair Elite & KS Bluejays – I first saw Phillips also at the June MAYB Summer Kickoff in Wichita playing with Cy-Fair and then later in summer running with KS Bluejays. Phillips is a high potential, garbage collecting post player who runs the floor well. She has athleticism to try the wrap around layup and hops to bring down a couple extra boards. She has the potential to fill up a box score but needs to get that free throw shooting work in.
Jadyn Mangan Jadyn Mangan 5'10" | SF Greeley County | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, SF/CG, Greeley County, Western Kansas Elite Cossman 2023 – Mangan earned Northwest Kansas League third team honors as a freshman. Film study of her showed that she has a quick first step with or without the ball and some decisiveness with her movement. While I never saw her finish with her left, generally she can finish through contact. Mangan has a solid frame with good length and is able to go end-to-end off the rebound. She also is a solid three ball threat when she catches and shoots in flow. A great deal of potential here.
Sandra Hracka Sandra Hracka 5'9" | CG Sunrise Christian Academy | 2025 State KS , 5’9″, CG, Sunrise Christian Academy, KS Bluejays – At PGH Live Council Bluffs my colleague David Gardner wrote “Hracka may have been the feistiest player I saw over the weekend. She pestered opponents on the defensive end and was diving for balls all over the basketball court. The Bluejays have a lot of offensive talent on the team and Hracka doesn’t take a lot of shots but she can get to the rim and hit from long range when left open. Hracka does a lot of little things on the court to get extra possessions and brings a ton of energy and grit.” Sold me!
Abigail Pedruzzi Abigail Pedruzzi 5'10" | CG Bishop Carroll | 2025 State KS , 5’9″, CG, Bishop Carroll, KS Bluejays – I enjoyed a good look at Pedruzzi at her best during day one of the PGH Dynasty (KS) ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] Circuit regional finals. Needs to gain strength but she has good interior quickness, is unfazed by contact to earn a score, and has solid speed in transition.
Amaree Henderson Amaree Henderson 5'10" | SG Newton | 2025 State KS , SG, Newton – Henderson is a player I look forward to seeing in the future. She earned Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division I second team honors in 2022.
Halle Jones Halle Jones 5'5" | PG Holcomb | 2025 State KS , PG/SG, Holcomb, Magic Basketball – Jones was a big part of the Magic’s success this summer. Terrific all-around player with leadership qualities. She earned Great West Activities Conference 2022 honorable mention and was a Pool WW all-star at the June US Junior Nationals’s Battle at the Border event.
