This article will take an inside look at those post players from the class of 2025. The highest ranked post player, Kaycee McCumber Kaycee McCumber 6'0" | C Farmington | 2025 State AR , was already mentioned in the article Class of 2025 Top 10 Breakdown (6-10). Let’s look at the other 5 post players that made the list.
This summer Tyra played for the competitive AAU squad AR Mavs. The work she put in and the competition she played against will help her tremendously this year for the 5A East conference West Memphis competes in. I’m looking for this athletic post player to be a big contributor this year with her ability to run the floor, rebound, defend, and score around the basket.
Zoey should have a big impact for Northside this year in the 7A West conference. Her skill set along with her size will cause problems for opponents. When you have a player with her skills and surround her with other players that know the game, she can be a match-up nightmare.
Standing at 6’2, Ameriya will hold down the paint for LR Central. Rebounding, defending, setting solid screens and running the floor maybe her biggest role, but she also has the touch around the rim to finish. To be able to compete in the 7A Central conference you must have size down low and Ameriya gives LR Central a player that can control the paint.
Kate is a post player that is going to do all the little things that is needed. She runs the floor, sets good screens, provides good help on defense, rebounds the ball, and she’ll do whatever is needed to help her team win. She wasn’t always called up to score this summer with her travel team, but she always seemed to find herself in the right place at the right time. This led to put backs, finishes at the rim, or open mid-range jumper.
Landiss is a workhorse. Standing around 5’8 or so you have to be in order to be effective at her position. She doesn’t have the length or the size the other players on this list has, so she has to make sure she does the little things. Landiss is going to play hard every possession. She goes after every rebound, chases after 50/50 balls, and makes good decisions with the basketball. This type of energy and effort is needed for every team and should benefit her Bryant team well.
