Honorable Mention: DeAndrea Smith DeAndrea Smith 5'7" | SF Flint Carman-Ainsworth | 2023 State MI (Carman Ainsworth), Ryleigh Zinn Ryleigh Zinn 5'11" | SF Genessee | 2023 State MI (Genessee), and Riley Abney Riley Abney 5'9" | SG Ortonville Brandon | 2024 State MI (Ortonville)
10. Riley Place Riley Place 5'6" | SG Goodrich | 2023 State MI | 2023 Goodrich
The 5’7 guard will always find a home due to deadly three point shooting. She hits from all five spots and rebounds very well for her position.
9. Maddie Burdis |2025 Flushing
Maddie looks to be the next great Flushing player. She shot 42% from deep last year and bullied her way into the lane. She showed a strong mid range game. With Sarah Rambus’s departure, expect Maddie to increase her usage.
8. Jamyla Thigpen | 2023 Carman Ainsworth
I love watching players like “Jam”. She is a beast on the glass, relentless off the bounce, and intimidating on defense. She has that edge that you can’t teach players but coaches wish every player had. She’s the proverbial “run through a brick wall” kid.
7. Kendyl Smith | 2026 Lake Fenton
It feels odd to put a kid that hasn’t even stepped foot into high school this high. Then again, the smooth shooting guard already has an offer from Central Michigan and from other DI schools. I have been hearing the hype on Kendyl since has had a hype 4th Grade. This high of a rating could look foolish if she lives up to the hype.
6. Alexcis Parker Alexcis Parker 5'9" | PG Flint Powers | 2023 State MI | 2023 Flint Powers
Alexcis is a three level scorer that puts up a lot of points and stuffs the stat book. Powers lost some key pieces from last year, so expect that Alexcis will play an even bigger role in the offense this year. It is very possible that she could drop 20 a game this year.
5. Sydnie Gillett Sydnie Gillett 5'11" | SF Corunna | 2023 State MI | 2023 Corunna
I had a chance to coach against Sydnie on her first game back after ACL surgery. She was fearless and threw her body into contact. She is a smooth catch and shoot sniper from deep and can run the offense. She is a big guard that got Corunna over 18 ppg and 6 rebounds. She racks up a ton of steals and has good vision. With Ellie Toney leaving, Sydnie’s number will be called on even more this year.
4. Jada McCree Jada McCree 5'6" | CG Grand Blanc | 2023 State MI | 2023 Grand Blanc
Smooth is the best descriptor for the senior guard. She is shooter that can heat up quickly and has the ability to attack off the bounce. She doesn’t have a hole in her game and is playing for a stacked GB team. Expect her to hit multiple threes a game and carry a crazy stat line.
3. Makenna Clement Makenna Clement 6'1" | PF Lake Fenton | 2023 State MI | 2023 Lake Fenton
Makenna was unable to suit up last years due to the transfer rule, but she will make her presence felt during her senior campaign. Standing at least six feet tall, she is an absolute beast in the post on both sides of the ball. She has advanced footwork and positions the defense in ways that she draws a lot of contact. She is a very good free throw shooter and has a solid mid range jumper. Lake Fenton is going to be even more dangerous than last year thanks to these two new additions.
2. Chelsea Bishop Chelsea Bishop 5'10" | SG Grand Blanc | 2024 State MI | 2024 Grand Blanc
Chelsea went from a role player her freshman year to star status her sophomore year. She posted a crazy stat line of 15 ppg, 8 reb, and 7 steals. She is an athletic slasher that is impossible to keep out of the lane. She is also a high energy defender. As a sophomore, she averaged almost 38% from deep. She could easily end the year as the best player in the Flint area and win SVL Player of the Year.
1. Armoni Strozier Armoni Strozier 6'1" | PF Flint Carman-Ainsworth | 2023 State MI | 2023 Carman Ainsworth
While Armoni is not the most polished player, she is the most unstoppable player. She is a big, strong post that cannot be kept off the block or the boards. People underestimate just how good of an athlete she is. She is an early favorite for SVL Player of the Year, and a terror that led CA to a district title. While there is a lot of talent on that CA team, Armoni’s skills and size make it hard to game plan against CA.
