Kailyn Young Kailyn Young 5’9″ | CG Quality Education Academy | 2024 State NC plays a lot bigger than her height shows. She can use her length to cause problems on defense jumping into passing lanes, guarding post players in the paint, and grabbing rebounds. On offense, she can certainly handle the ball efficiently pushing it up the court off of rebounds, and she uses her height to keep the ball high and away from her opponents when driving to the hoop. She already plays at a high speed and will continue to be a leader for her teams.
Highlights
Jazlyn Harris Jazlyn Harris 5’8″ | PG Quality Education Academy | 2024 State NC has a new home with Northside Christian. The high motor point guard is certain to step right in as a leader being able to control the tempo and direct her teammates where to go in order to make a play. She can also take over herself driving hard to the basket moving quickly downhill no matter who is trying to stop her. Her speed translates well to the defensive side of the ball anticipating plays stopping her opponents from getting anything going.
Skylar Adams Skylar Adams 5’8″ | PG Northwood | 2024 NC is officially a state champion with Northwood, and her ball handling will certainly help her team make another championship run this season. She moves at high speeds with the ball shifting the defense in order to make a nice pass into her teammates. She can finish at the rim herself using her finesse to create space or battle through contact with some old fashioned three point plays. She can set herself up around the perimeter for a shot as well.
Zaria Gool Zaria Gool 5’6″ | SG Winston Salem Christian | 2024 State NC plays with high speed whether she is pushing the tempo handling the ball, making a quick pass into her teammates, or jumping into passing lanes to grab a steal. She knows how to make smart decisions showing off her shot from deep or taking it all the way to the basket. She can certainly fill in where her team needs her whether it’s to be a floor general or stay on the wing to put up some jump shots.
Reese Fritz Reese Fritz 5’8″ | SG 1 Of 1 Prep | 2024 State NC has had a strong summer shooting from around the perimeter, and she can do so from the pass or off her own dribble. She does a nice job pushing the tempo whether she is making a long pass up the court or taking the ball all the way herself. She can definitely create some separation with a nice jump stop scoring points that way. On the defensive side of the ball, she uses her vision to anticipate passes to deflect them out of the way or obtain possession.
Highlights
Kierra Morrow Kierra Morrow 5’10” | SF Cannon | 2024 State NC is constantly moving on the court whether she is crashing boards or shifting the defense with her movement on the offensive side of the ball. She can knock down shots from deep, and she is great when it comes to flashing in the paint for the pass and bucket. She will certainly bring some strong scoring to Cannon this year, and she hustles after loose balls making sure her team is the one who comes out on top.
