A four hour event that saw nearly 40 participants ranging from 6th-12th grade competing in numerous drills and scrimmages. The “Rising BlueStar group consisted of the middle schoolers while the “BlueStar Combine” was comprised of the High School girls.

“Be competitive! Compete with yourself”
SFIS Head Coach, Terri Morrison
Let’s take a look at some BSC participants that stood out and impressed! (2/2 of list of Standouts – Link for first article will be provided at the bottom of the page)
Azalia Malizia Azalia Malizia 5'4" | PG Valencia | 2024 State NM is a sound Guard that always competes with good energy, and focus. That was no different Sunday at the BlueStar Combine. As the camp progressed, Malizia began to display her ability to score & create during runs (3x3s, & 5X5s) by exploiting defensive rotations with her ball handling, slicing and slithering into the lane
“Dribbles pull defenses”
SFIS Head Coach, Terri Morrison
Jadyn Montoya Jadyn Montoya SG Valencia | 2025 State NM is an effective Guard with good speed and a high motor; She showcased the ability to use her off hand fairly well (left hand) both during individual drills, involving full court moves and, during stationary ball handling circuits. Montoya looked polished for an underclassmen that knew how to handle whatever drill or task was thrown at her.
Kathleen Lewis
Kathleen Lewis
Kathleen Lewis is a budding forward from Cleveland High School that flashed good footwork in the lane, had good balance and displayed a smooth looking jump shot. The 5’11” Forward has a chance to really make a name for herself in the next three years!
Jayden Baca
Jayden Baca
Jayden Baca is a 5’2” Guard from Cleveland that looks to be very promising; Baca operates the backcourt positions well for the time being (depending if she grows, only a freshman 2026) by playing with a good pace and having good ball handling & passing. Continuously delivering crisp passes to players shooting pockets allowing them to shoot in rhythm.
“Great shooting teams, are great passing teams”
SFIS Head Coach, Terri Morrison
Rochelle Lopez
Rochelle Lopez
Rochelle Lopez is a cool 5’4” Guard from Peñasco who is going to be a name to remember in the coming years. Lopez just enters the High School scene as a 2026 underclassmen. Don’t let that fool you, she can play. Lopez has a nice 3pt stroke and will hit from various spots such as the top of the key and wings. An unselfish player that worked well with teammates during 3x3s and 5x5s.
