My goal moving forward is to prioritize the players on this list and watch as many as possible over the next few months to evaluate their game further. Below are a few of my favorite players from the list.
Highlights
Bailey is a big with good size and length. I have watched her over the past few months, and I love her confidence in shooting from the perimeter. She has shown a consistent stroke from the outside and has been reliable as a spot-up shooter. With that established, I like Bailey’s upside as a prospect going forward as she continues to develop her game from the high and low post.
There are a ton of talented wings representing the ’26 class, and Jasmin is another one to watch this fall/winter. I like her inside/out game, and Jasmin showed her three-point efficiency at the PGH Freshman Showcase. She is physical and uses her body well inside to be a dangerous scoring option around the basket.
Chadd lacks the height of other power forwards in her class but makes up for it with her athleticism. She has the length and leaping ability to be impactful on the glass and in the paint. After watching her at the PGH Freshman Showcase and the UA Elite 50, I like Chadd’s potential to be a solid two-way forward who can also stretch the floor. Her athletic gifts make it so she can contribute sooner rather than later when we get into the winter season.
Highlights
Fernandes competed as hard as anyone at the PGH Freshman Showcase, which is what initially caught my eye. She was intense on defense and did a good job sliding her feet and getting into her opponent’s air space. Fernandes has quick hands and is a disruptor who forces the ball handler to pick up their dribble prematurely. Her grittiness and toughness make up for her lack of size, and she plays hard nonstop.
I watched Gomes early on at the PGH Freshman Showcase, and she was one of the more aggressive players in the beginning. She asserted herself early and often, getting to her spots and scoring at a high clip. I took note of Gomes’ mid-long range shooting, and she showed comfort in firing off the bounce and catch, along with handling the ball while pressured.
Mik was one of the few guards who rebounded the ball well at the PGH Freshman Showcase. She was relentless on the boards and did a good job pushing the tempo in transition. Mik kept her eyes up, scanned the floor, played with pace, and made a few memorable dynamic plays on the break.
