This years Louisiana class of 2026 will hit the scene and make alot of noise as freshman for there respective schools. This class is field with what I believe will turn out to be one of the deepest classes in state history for the number of division one prospects to ink there names to the next level. Here we will highlight the top 5 pre season incoming freshman in the boot state. This is not a ranking and can easily be expanded to ten plus kids!
Aaliyah Gaddis Aaliyah Gaddis 6'0" | SF Family Christian | 2026 State LA | 6’0 | SF | Family Christian |
Easily the most unknown kid on the list as she attends a small school, but don’t let going to a small school fool you. Gaddis has a ton of untapped potential and is kind of raw at the moment, even with that she has a decent handle can finish at the rim amongst the trees. Already possessing a next level body that she uses to carve out position and dominate the glass Aaliyah in my opinion has a chance to be a hybrid forward at the next level as she has time to develop her perimeter game. Look for Aaliyah to have an All-State type year for the Lady Flames.
Asia Patin Asia Patin 5'6" | PG Southern Lab | 2026 State LA | 5’6 | PG | Southern Lab |
Exploded on the scene in 2021-2022 as an 8th grader starting for the 2022 1A private State Champion Southern Lab Lady Kittens. The ultra athletic Pg blew by defenders at will getting to the rim when she wanted to. Again a young guard so most of the time she was playing at a hundred miles per hour, with growth and maturity the game should slow down for her coming into her freshman season. Seeing her play 17u over the summer on the aau circuit was quite impressive as she competed against some of the best players in the nation and held her own. As most young players she has somethings to work on, improving her jumper will be key in her future development. Look for Asia once again to be back in a title game with her Lady Kittens.
Kyndal Graham Kyndal Graham 5'4" | PG Huntington | 2026 State LA | 5’4 | PG | Huntington |
Pure Point Guard, yes she’s 5’3 and I don’t want to her well she’s to small. 5’3 and shifty, at her size she knows how to create space and get her shots off whenever she wants to. Playing on the UA circuit I’ve never seen her sped up by defenders she plays at her own pace and at two different speeds. Kyndal is an already above average three ball shooter and has a very high basketball IQ (A REAL POIN GUARD). Adding to an already nice backcourt at Huntington High Kyndal will be the piece that brings Coach Shyne a ring to the 318! When its all said in done can she be the top prospect in the class?
Chikae Desdunes Chikae Desdunes 5'10" | CG John Curtis | 2026 State LA | 5’9 | CG | John Curtis |
She’s just a freshman? Yes. Seems like Chikae has been on the scene for years and mainly because she’s been so dominate in her young AAU career. Well last year she put the state on notice having a breakout 8th grade campaign with her Division 1 state championship John Curtis Lady Patriot squad. The what most people say smooth big guard can do a little bit of everything, she can beat you off the bounce with hesitation moves, beat you to a spot and pull up on you or sometimes just simply walk you down and drain a long ball. Already holding a power 5 offer (Auburn) going into her freshman season Chikae will have to do more for her Curtis squad who seen one of there top guards transfer out. Curtis is loaded but Chikae will have to be the offensive catalyst for the Lady Patriots if they want to continue there Championship ways!
Kaliyah Samuels Kaliyah Samuels 6'0" | SF Lafayette Christian | 2026 State LA | 6’0 | W | Lafayette Christian |
Skilled is the word that comes to mind when i think of Kaliyah. The 6’0 i don’t know what position to classify her Samuels can do just about anything she wants to on the court. After having a great AAU summer I’m curious to see what this 2026 does on a loaded Lafayette Christian squad in her first year of varsity action. Ive seen her play the 1-5 and look very comfortable at every spot. A small guard like handle and this is no exaggeration (Hakeem) like foot work on the block Samuels scores and a variety of ways she’ll take a smaller defender to the post and dominate them or take a bigger defender out to the three and go by them. The kid is shooting turn around one foot fade-away jumpers like Dirk and knocking them down consistently. I cant wait to see her growth and playing next to the number one kid in the Louisiana class of 2024 I’m sure colleges coaches will take notice, well the ones that already haven’t!
