We were able to attend the annual LGR Fab 50 camp in New Orleans Louisiana. The event is the who’s who of girls basketball in the state of Louisiana with girls representing from the class of 2023 all the way up to the class of 2030. This one day event was and is filled with talent every year. Here are a few highlights from some of our 2025 class that had a nice stock raising day.
Mia picked up exactly where she left off at the Pre-Fab 50 in Lake Charles making 3 ball after 3 ball. Yes, the kid can flat out shoot it! Once again, it was on full display at the Fab 50. Outside of making plenty of shots, Mia used her length to cause problems on the defensive end throughout the day. Arguably one of the best shooters in the state regardless of class, she has once again put on an eye opening performance!
Madison Alcero

It was a mismatch problem at the Fab 50. Madison scored on the block as well as taking people off the bounce from the wing. The broad shoulder forward used her body well to carve out space on the block. As we all know, these camps aren’t made to get post touches, but when she ventured out to the wing she looked very comfortable putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim. She also did an outstanding job making plays for others. She’ll be a key piece to the Southern Lab puzzle as they look to repeat as division IV state champions!

Another kid that showed versatility for her size was Kaylee. She scored inside and out on the day in multiple ways. We were very impressed with her footwork on the block as she scored on a few up and under moves. She looked very good in the PnR game where she stretched the floor to the 3 point line. Seeing her at the Pre fab 50 caught my attention where she continued to impress.
Long and agile Kamara was a rebounding machine at the Fab 50 on both ends of the court. While she didn’t score it much she made her impact rebounding running the floor and blocking multiple shots on the day. Her best basketball is ahead of her a very intriguing prospect to say the least! Curious to see how it plays out for her with an expanded role at Southwood High this year!
One of the most intriguing prospects I saw at the Fab 50 was 2025, Tiarra. Her wings upside is through the roof. She did so many good things like attack the rim, used her length defensively, and showed an improved handle. Tiara put on one of the better performances at the Fab 50 scoring in different ways, but she’s at her best when she’s going downhill. Her ceiling is so high and she still may grow an inch or two. At the next level and with development she can possibly play anywhere from the 1-3! I look forward in seeing how she’ll handle playing the Pg position full time for her Lady Broncos team this year.
