Monday, we updated our list for the Class of 2025. It expanded from 100 prospects to 125 prospects, so we added a number of new prospects headed into the high school season. At this time, I wanted to highlight a few young ladies for their play. All are listed as either point guards, combo guards, or shooting guards within the Indiana Class of 2025 Top-125 Rankings.
Hadley is a long, wiry-strong, fluidly athletic guard who plays with a smoothness to her game. She is a ball-handler and runs/initiates offense for her team(s) most of the time. She is almost too unselfish at times, but she is a nice facilitator, and she can create problems with her size and athleticism. She does have the ability to attack the basket and absorb contact, so she can score it at the rim or draw charity tosses. She’s also a solid perimeter shooter and a versatile, effortful defender. She should be a problem for Lanesville this season.
Highlights
Taryn put together a really nice Spring and Summer grassroots season, and she is drawing solid college interest because of it. She has an athletic frame, broad shoulders, and nice length. She moves very well in most directions, and I like how she willingly picks up 84-feet and pressures opposing ball-handlers. Offensively, she does a little of everything. She can facilitate, attack the basket, and makes shots outside, but she also has a solid mid-range pull-up game. Taryn has some similarities in her game to an Olivia Brown Olivia Brown 5’7″ | PG Hamilton Southeastern | 2023 State IN .
Rielyn is a little on the small side of things, but she is incredibly dynamic and enjoyable to watch. She has very good speed and quickness, she changes directions in an instant, and she always plays with a great motor. She has a veteran savvy to her game, so she understands when to change speeds, how to break down a defender, when to pass, and when to shoot. She’s also crafty and can make highlight plays, but she doesn’t necessarily force them when they’re unwarranted. I also like her ability to stick to opposing ball-handlers defensively.
There aren’t many people aside from Plymouth opponents who know much about Lena’s game, but she has a lot of upside. She is a very nice athlete with end-to-end speed, she plays with a motor, and she has good length and a wiry-strong, athletic frame. She played alongside a rather veteran cast a season ago, but she still managed 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game. I look for her to still be a facilitator, but I’d expect her scoring to go up a bit in Year-2. She can get to the basket, knock down an open jumper, plus she defends with athleticism.
Katy is new to the 2025 list, and for good reason. I got to see her a couple of times in the Spring and again in July, and she was very active and always around the action. She is a smallish guard, but she’s very quick, feisty, and honestly scrappy is probably the best word for her style of play. She is a primary ball-handler and does a nice job of putting teammates in a position to score the ball. She’s also a gnat defensively and can really bother her matchup each time out. With all five starters graduating, look for her opportunity to increase significantly.
