The High School division featured 80+ athletes from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and more. The gym was packed with so much talent, and the players listed below made an impact on the court and stood out to me in the class of 2025.
Mariah Watson Mariah Watson 5'6" | CG Choctaw | 2025 State OK | G / 5-7 | Choctaw HS | 2025
Mariah is an athletic guard with size that has a knack for getting to the basket. She is good at reading the defense and making quick counters when driving. She uses her body to absorb contact and finishes at the rim. She rebounds the ball like a winner and gives multiple efforts on both ends of the floor. She isn’t afraid to pass to her teammates including entry passes to post players working. She can also hit the 3-point jumper and will hit a big shot within the flow of the offense.
Josie Megehee Josie Megehee 5'10" | CG Bethel | 2025 State OK | G / 5-9 | Bethel HS| 2025
Josie is a big guard with a motor that translates to the next level. Her approach on the court is to attack the basket, shoot when open and crash the boards. She handles the ball good, and can create off the dribble. Defensively she is good on ball and can guard multiple positions. She is a willing passer in the open floor, but make no mistake, she is capable of going coast to coast if needed. She makes good decisions with the ball and can stretch the defense with her shooting. The one thing that caught my eye with Josie is that she is competitive. I enjoy watching Josie because she plays to win.
Kylie Ross Kylie Ross 5'5" | PG Mt. St. Mary | 2025 State OK | PG / 5-7 | Oklahoma Aces | 2025
Kylie is a savvy point guard with a special shooting ability. She directs traffic and knows how to control the pace of the game. I mentioned she could shoot the ball, and once she gets going, she doesn’t miss. Defensively she is in the right spot at the right time, doing her job. If you need a big shot, you want the ball in her hands. She hit the game winner in the last game of the day, Kylie is cold blooded.
Riley Burnett | G / 5-7 | Piedmont HS | 2025
Riley is a long, athletic guard with a lot of upsides to her game. Defensively she will work, pressure the ball, play the passing lane, as well as rotate off ball. She has good length and uses it the get deflections and rebounds. She can also guard multiple positions due to her length and will to compete. She can stretch the floor and hit the 3-ball and has a solid mid-range jumper as well. She is a willing passer and can get downhill to the basket. She has a high basketball IQ, and competes to win.
Rekiah Bowen | G / 5-9 | Union HS | 2025
Rekiah is a big guard that has the ability to take her defender off the dribble and finish at the basket. Her handles are good but her size gives her the advantage, using her body to muscle opponents and score over them. She has a smooth looking shot and has made timely shots throughout the day in drills and scrimmages. She is a good communicator and speaks positive even when frustrated. I look forward to learning more about Rekiah and watching her this upcoming school season.
