The event was held from Sept 24-25. I was able to attend the event on Sunday, Sept. 25, and here’s a look at some of the top talent I saw.
1. Karsen Marshall – Corona Centennial 2024
Marshall stood out for her play on the glass as a wing/guard. She’s active on the boards, boxes out and positions herself for rebounds. Solid offensive rebounder keeping possessions alive and getting put-back opportunities. Strong on-ball defender who uses her length and quickness to fight through screens, switch well, and stay in front of the ball-handler. She has a nice offensive touch too. Effective around the basket with some shooting range. Handles the ball well in transition.
2. Daja Ford – Lynwood 2023
Ford is a good little point guard. She makes good decisions with the ball in her hands, especially in the halfcourt. Makes the right pass and finds the open teammate. Plays within the offense and doesn’t try to do too much. A good ball-handler who can dribble under control against defensive pressure. Able to beat her defender off the dribble. Defensively, she slides her feet well and stays in front of the ball-handler forcing them to pick up their dribble. Quick hands to tie them up and/or force turnovers.

– San Joaquin Memorial 2024
Clayton is a solid wing scorer. She has strong handles and is able to create her own shot. She’s more of a two guard who can act as the primary ball-handler. She does a good job creating space to shoot the midrange jumper. She can face up and shoot with a defender crowding her and she has consistent range out to the three-point line. Nice hesitation moves to get her defender out of position. Defensively she does well contesting shots on the wing.

Brown was a quick point guard who gets the job done. Runs the offense smoothly and efficiently. She can break down the defense off the dribble in the halfcourt and in transition she uses her speed to beat defenders down court before they can stop ball. Does a good job finding open teammates running the floor on the break. In the halfcourt, she can attack consistently off the dribble and get into the lane where she finishes well around traffic.
