Morgan Lovejoy-6’1 PF (Lampass) 2023
Lovejoy stands over “the magic number” which is 6’0 for those who haven’t been paying attention and that is the magic number because I have been receiving calls since I started evaluating, which has been forever, for that height. Her intangibles are she rebounds, on both ends, and runs the floor. She uses her frame well and finishes after contact, bot on putbacks as well as scoring around the basket
Alyssa Reyna-5’11 C (Jefferson) 2023
Reyna used her body well on both ends, she understands positioning which enabled her to get rebounds, on both ends and she also used nice moves around the rim and finished strongly, putbacks included
Kariel Martinez-6’0 SF (Harlan) 2023
Martinez ran the floor on both ends over and over and that was after rebounding on both ends of the court. She showed she could not only finish strongly but do it after contact. She also scored from the wing a few times
Kathleen Santos-6’1 PF (Jefferson) 2023
Santos is over “the magic number” and “long and athletic” which should raise eyebrows and watching her go after the ball off the rim numerous times showed effort and desire. She also scored off the dribble
Duda Igiehon-5’11 SF (Clemens) 2024
Igiehon is also “long and athletic” yet her upside is what grabs me because of the effort she shows, falling into that “never takes a play-off” category. Her on-the-ball defense, baseline to baseline, created some problems yet so did her reading the floor to play the passing lane. I love seeing players do things you can’t teach, just showing effort, and when you add her timing to block shots…
Jenna Ball-5’5 CG (Lampass) 2024
Ball was having just that, a ball, as she used her first step to get by players whenever she wanted. I enjoyed her creating her shot which set the stage yet her finishes using solid body control, after the lick, were all nice
Nattie Martin-5’5 CG (Lampass) 2024
Martin applied so much heat on defense, I had to go get a drink of water and I’m talking both in the set as well as baseline to baseline “on the ball”, no pun intended. She uses her athleticism well and also attacks from multiple angles
Jamie Bell-5’9 G/F (Lampass) 2024
Bell definitely rang some as she set the defender up nicely to score off the dribble. She also did a good job hitting the short jumper and saw the floor and made solid passes in traffic. She played solid defense and forced players into traps
Rakiya Nelson Rakiya Nelson 6'1" | PF Churchill | 2025 State TX -5’11 SF (Churchill) 2025
Nelson is “long and athletic” and one of the profiles I love because college coaches also love it, they give scholarships. One of her intangibles is that she goes after the ball off the rim, relentlessly and that deserves a #THROWBACK hashtag. She also plays good defense, inside and outside the paint, and shows good timing to block shots. She also finished after contact, outbacks included
