Reedsburg represented sectional three at last season's state tournament. However, the Beavers lost most of their rotational pieces to graduation, meaning there will likely be a new winner of sectional three this year. Let's talk about who can make a statement in this sectional.

The Spartans battled with injuries last season, and hopefully, they will remain healthy this season. Barring health, the Spartans are the deepest and most talented team in sectional three. This team goes eight or nine players deep, and having one of the best talents in the region, [player_tooltip player_id='209586' first='Teagan' last='Mallegni'], makes life much easier. With [player_tooltip player_id='209598' first='Brynn' last='Kirch'] back to handle the ball will take help out Mallegni and let her play off the ball instead of having to do almost everything as she did in the second half of the season last year. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='329575' first='Adrienne' last='Kirch'] has been around the past three seasons and has been an effective off-ball guard who's made big shots in her time as a Spartan. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='337014' first='Ava' last='Dean'] is a hybrid who can play as a guard or forward and does all the little things to help her team win games. The incoming class they are getting is talented and will impact winning immediately.

The Wolverines had a weird season last year. From an odd night at Catholic Memorial to beating eventual D1 champions Kettle Moraine on the road to a head-scratching sectional semifinal loss to Union Grove. Last season was all over the place. However, the Wolverines do have some key pieces back. Maryville commit [player_tooltip player_id='156078' first='Caden' last='Krohn'], Oral Roberts commit [player_tooltip player_id='440847' first='Annyka' last='Hellendrung'], and talented 2025 Jordan Fenske are all back. The loss of Ashlyn Yow will hurt long-term this season because they don't have a true lead guard. Even with some roster weirdness, the Wolverines have more than enough talent to contend for a spot at the Resch Center this March.

The Norskies made it to a sectional semifinal last season, ultimately losing to Reedsburg. The Norskies return their top three scorers from last season and have the athleticism to give anyone they play issues. [player_tooltip player_id='209901' first='Rylan' last='Oberg'] is an excellent two-way player, [player_tooltip player_id='156054' first='Jaelyn' last='Derlein'] can score anywhere on the floor, and Aspin Kelliher can do a little bit of everything.

Wilmot Union

Panther junior [player_tooltip player_id='266998' first='McKenna' last='Johnson'] is possibly one of the most entertaining players to watch in Wisconsin. Her scoring ability goes under the radar because she is basically in Illinois, but she is one of the best talents in Wisconsin. At any point in time, Johnson can go out and score 30, and there's not much you can do to stop that from happening.

[player_tooltip player_id='209900' first='Sydney' last='Cherney'] is one of my favorite kids to watch play because of how hard she plays and how effective she is on the court. When the wheels fell off for the Beavers at the Resch Center, Cherney finished with 19 points and ten rebounds. She is going to play hard until the clock hits zero.

Union Grove

The Broncos bring back most of their roster and could easily make it back to sectionals. Sophie Rampulla and Sydney Ludvigsen will be a challenging duo to beat, especially after the success they've had together. However, I think losing Payton Calouette is more significant than people expect.
