In this article we look at some of the stock risers in the 2024 class. There are some huge movers and then there are some that moved into a top 20 or top 50 ranking status. Each of these players have had some special moments to rise in the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='349438' first='Peira' last='Alexander'] / 5'6 PG / Orange Park FL

Alexander was a key component last year for the Lady Raiders and this year the expectations are even greater. The rise to 103 from 175 (72 spots) comes as no surprise. Alexander can handle the ball and shoot it from all levels on the court. She is a selfless player who gets the ball to the right person. I've seen her in private workouts and training sessions and know her potential as a ballplayer. With the graduation of the two senior leaders, Alexander will be called on to pick up the void they left. Moreover, she will be called on to take some of the pressure off of [player_tooltip player_id='331745' first='Eris' last='Lester']. Alexander is more than capable.

[player_tooltip player_id='248346' first='Kendall' last='Shorstein'] / 5'7 PG / Episcopal

Shorstein moves 89 spots in the rankings to number 136. I saw her up and close during the live period in Louisville and Orlando and her rise in the rankings is no surprise. Shorstein can run the point guard and she also excels in the shooting guard position. Shorstein is a three point specialists who can score them in flurries. She lit it up in the live period. She can also get to the basket if you overplay her for the three pointer.

[player_tooltip player_id='248303' first='Jasmine' last='Bocca'] / 5'3 PG / Winter Park

Bocca is one of the smartest players I have covered over the past year. Her basketball IQ is off the charts and her basketball game is right there too. Bocca moves up 51 spots and is now ranked in the top 50 in the state. Bocca can shoot the ball from behind the three point line and she has the ability to drive to the goal as well. She plays on both sides of the court. In close games, she takes over and does what ever it takes to put her team in a position to win. She is like a coach on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='426240' first='Autumn' last='Nesmith'] / 5'7 SG / Orange Park

Every time we have talked about Nesmith over the summer, we mentioned the improvement she has made in her game. Nesmith rises 55 spots in the ranking. Her main thing is shooting the ball and that she can do. She will have to score a little more this year with the lost of Brown and Harrison.

[player_tooltip player_id='248291' first='Kennedy' last='Rosendahl'] / 5'6 PG / Ponte Vedra

After the summer that Rosendahl had, moving up in the rankings was inevitable. She shot the three ball well at all the live periods and was the MVP of the Orlando Splash tournament. Rosendahl did a good job of running the point guard during AAU and she also can move over to the shooting guard position depending on the personnel on the floor. Last year as a Sophomore, Rosendahl knocked down 73 threes for the center. One of her strongest aspects about her game is that she has that "clutch" gene that surfaces in crunch time.

[player_tooltip player_id='349277' first='Gabby' last='Bush'] / 5'11 SF / Tampa Prep

Bush (cover photo) moves up 22 spots after a very impressive live period. Bush is a versatile player who can play the 1, 2, or the 3. In one game in Louisville, after losing her team's point guard to injury, Bush took over the game. She handled the point guard duties and the scoring duties. Bush can shoot it from the three point line, take it to the goal, and play in the transition game. Bush garnered some major college offers after the live period. She is a star in the making.

[player_tooltip player_id='349386' first='LeighAnn' last='Hanley'] / 6'1 SF / Carrollwood Day

Hanley stood out immediately at the live period with her ability to dominate in the paint. Her play has planted her into the top 20 in the State. The versatile Hanley can play three positions. She also score in the paint and also away from the basket, and that creates so many mismatches. Hanley grabbed nearly 9 rebounds per game last season, and averaged nearly 9 points per game. Do the math - Hanley is poised to average a double-double this upcoming season

[player_tooltip player_id='248292' first='Regan' last='Chappell'] / 5'7 SG / DME Sports Academy

Chappell moves up 25 spots in the rankings. That's not the only move Chappell made. She transferred to DME this year from Ponte Vedra. Chappell played with great confidence over the summer (summer ball and AA). Chappell can shoot the ball and has one of the sweetest shots out there. She can knock it down from the three point line and she is deadly in the mid-rage area.
