Ramos brings toughness to the Highlands Ranch backcourt, proving to prioritize many small details that impact winning. At roughly 5’2, the incoming sophomore guard has continued to be an assertive help side defender and merciless rebounder. On multiple occasions, Ramos fought for rebounds and loose balls versus bigger opponents. She proved to be fearless either drawing contact around the paint, finding quite a few openings through backdoor cuts or simply filling the open slot. The sophomore showcased her playmaking vision through drive and kick opportunities, hitting multiple shooters in those matches. Ramos’s upside as a shooter will be a key factor for the guard, where she flashed pull-up jumpers in the mid-range. Ramos is on our watch list for the 2025 class, stay tuned.
Sophia Sabus Sophia Sabus 5'11" | CG Ralston Valley | 2024 State CO – Ralston Valley – 2024
Sabus is a potent volume shooter who was second on Ralston Valley’s per game scoring last season, only behind her older sister Saya Sabus, who graduated last year. The combo guard stands right around 5’11, proving to have total confidence in her skillset as a shooter. Last season, Sabus had ten games with 3+ makes from distance, three of those matches she made 6+ three pointers. She proved to be knockdown from a variety of settings, such as movement shots coming out of screens or pull-ups on the break. Regardless of a contest, Sabus showed no signs of slowing down from distance. While she is potent from downtown, Sabus may also be deployed as a playmaker within the halfcourt. Proving to find open teammates in the corner or wing spots off kick outs. Given her shooting gravity, Sabus is capable creating driving lanes downhill, often contributing one legged floaters and ambidextrous layups. Sabus currently sits as the 17th overall prospect within the 2024 class and 7th among combo guards.
Penny Urquhart Penny Urquhart 5'10" | SG Littleton | 2024 State CO – Littleton – 2024
Urquhart brings pedigree as a sharpshooter from distance, both off the bounce and catch. Standing right around 5’10, the shooting guard shows promise as a volume shooter with room to grow as a complementary scoring threat getting downhill. The incoming junior shooting guard has excellent footwork while relocating for shots, whether coming off a curl or using a sidestep to create the space. Given her shooting gravity, teams tend to pressure her out on the perimeter, allowing her extra space to score or make plays inside. One noticeable area of Urquhart comes from her ability to take contact on drives, finishing through contests with the right hand on multiple trips. Urquhart currently ranks 23rd within the 2024 class and 1st among shooting guards.
Morgan Ives – Horizon – 2024
Ives has a major impact winning for her role within Horizon’s backcourt through a versatile skillset. The incoming junior combo guard showed playmaking potential within the pick and roll, patiently waiting for the right moment to hit teammates in the pocket. Another strength of hers resides in her shooting off the catch, contributing 36% of her 106 three-point attempts. Although only standing about 5’6, Ives was still aggressive in the paint, grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game at Horizon. Ives currently sits at 91st in the class and 39th among combo guards within the 2024 class.
