Continue ReadingI love covering events where I have what I need, talent, new talent and rosters and did hit a few snags with teams not turning in non-erroneous rosters, I just don’t get it but here’s the deal, I caught some talented players yet to enter high school, I also put the ones I didn’t see enough of on HONORABLE MENTION because they were competing against older players, some of them established high school stars so always remember “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against”
Elizabeth Lee Elizabeth Lee 5'9" | PG Glenn | 2027 State TX -5’8 PG (Centex Attack 2026)
Lee is a definte 2027 Watch List pick, she’s going to be high in the Texas Top 100 and she has the making of a legitimate nationally ranked player before it’s all said and done. Needless to say, she’s a #D1Lock because first of all, she’s long and athletic, that will always be the base and when you factor in her first step and ball-handling, just keep adding. Her jumper is smooth, midrange is a definte threat, and she plays the passing lane
Murae Horn-5’3 PG (HG Elite 27/26)
Horn made several loud sounds as she showed she could not only run a team but control the tempo. She’s heady, makes good decisions when she passes and understands who to and when to get the ball to. She also handles the ball well and scores off the dribble
Mia Rodriguez Mia Rodriguez 5'4" | PG Birdville | 2027 TX -5’3 PG (HG Elite 27/26)
Rodriguez created her shot well under pressure and showed she could drop it from deep. She also did a good job of setting the defender up to either attack and finish or attack and dish. She played solid defense and has good upside to add to her pluses
Mariah Conally-5’7 SG (Krush Queens 2026) OK
Conally does so many things well right now, I want throw “scary upside” out there. She’s long and athletic, remember, that is the base, and watching her not only play the passing lane but handle the ball in the open court afterward had me smiling. She scores off the dribble, nice body control on finishes, but she also showed she could drop the mid and long-range jumper
Reighan Carey Reighan Carey 5'7" | CG Millwood | 2027 OK -5’5 PG (Krush Queens 2026) OK
Carey is not related to drew but “the Price Is Right” as she is showing signs of doing some damage in the not too distant future. She creates her shot for both the jumper as well as to attack the basket off the dribble but she also does something I love to see and that’s “play the passing lane”
Jaisie Hocut-5’2 PG (MO Legacy 14U)
Hocut understands the game and plays within herself, two big things to have and when you add another BIG thing, she understands how to get hers in the flow. Playing within yourself means not doing something out of the ordinary and her handling the ball and seeing the floor were nice but so was her pull-up jumper, from mid to long-range
Honorable Mention
Adalee Gober-5’3 PG (MO Legacy 14U)
Kyrie Britton-5’2 SG (MO Legacy 14U)
Shyann Harston-5’3 PG (Girls Ball Hard Too)
Courtney Bynum-5’7 C (Girls Ball Hard Too)
Lauren Massey-5’6 PG (Girls Ball Hard Too)
Quanesha Horn-5’7 PG (HG Elite 27/26)
Macaiah Garza-5’6 PG (Hoop 10 Select)
Maleeya Stanford-5’10 SG (Lady Stangs Black)
Markayla Tate-5’8 PF (Texas Elite East Texas Spurs 14U)
