Mckenzie Snook
The Chariton Charger junior is the leading returning scorer in the conference, with 15.1 points per game last season. The 5-foot-7 guard is a bit of a throwback at the guard position. Snook doesn’t utilize a 3-point shot in her game but attacks the basket whenever possible. Even though she isn’t the tallest, the Charger manages to be efficient around the basket. The guard shot over 45% from the field as a sophomore and has one of the more unique games in Iowa.
Whitney Klyn
The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont wing filled up the stat sheet in her junior season. Klyn averaged 13.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and five assists last season. The now senior also shot a respectable 30% from the 3-point line. Her all-around game is intriguing, and her size at 5-foot-10 helps her as a prospect. Klyn is a multi-sport athlete who could play at the next level in multiple sports, so it’ll be interesting to see her next step.
Klyn’s Rocket teammate is a talented 6-foot forward. Shafer has the athleticism to defend and make plays on the perimeter on that end of the floor. That ability to make things happen and end the opposing team’s possessions without a shot is game-changing. The then-freshman nearly averaged five steals per game and helped the team in every aspect. She scored, rebounded, passed, defended multiple positions, and made some jumpers here and there. She has a chance to be one of the more intriguing 2025s if she can find some consistency on the offensive end. However, even if she stayed the way she is right now for the next three years, I’m sure multiple coaches would love her game.
Rachel George Rachel George 5'11" | C Centerville | 2023 State IA
The Centerville forward averaged a double-double last season. The Big Red also boasted a well-rounded offensive game. She played at a high level around the basket on both ends, owning that area and finishing with both hands. George also has a jumper that teams respect when she’s on the floor. Making 30.5% of her 3-pointers is a tool that Centerville can use to keep defenses guessing. If she can improve that number this year, Centerville could be even tougher to beat.
