The glistening waters of the Great Lakes is a must see- the Girl’s Basketball ain’t bad either. While a lot of people sleep on these northern communities, they produce some solid teams and some amazing players. Teams like Frankfort and Glen Lake have both won multiple State Championships, and schools like Charlevoix have put kids into P5 programs.
Ruby Hogan

Last year, Ruby’s role was to be a glue kid, and she more than played her role. She is a kid that got a ton of steals in a variety of ways: off the ball on the press, on the ball, and in the 1/4 through positioning. She is a big rebounder and is great at finding teammates. With Glen Lake losing a ton of 2022 players, expect Ruby to take on the role of lead scorer, which she is equipped to handle.
Caitlyn Heethuis

During her sophomore year, Caitlyn was a high energy hustle player that got a ton of points off of steals and transition opportunities. Last year, she expanded her offensive game into a slasher and a shooter. With the leap that she made between those two years, expect another big leap in her game this year. TC Central has a ton of talent on the team and has a senior leader to take them to a deep playoff run.
Highlights
This is a kid that slipped under the radar. She is a killer on the offensive end with deep three point shooting ability. She is a menace in transition as she outlets with precision or goes coast to coast while seeking contact. She rebounds very well for a guard. She can score in the midrange and is a strong driver. Not sure how she is rated in the 200s.
We list her as a shooting guard, but her team plays her at the point. Thankfully, Kendall has a coach that isn’t wasting her talents due to her size. She is a strong driver off the bounce with both hands and has deep range. She possesses a midrange game and cuts well. She is a capable shot blocker as well. Her size makes her a very versatile defender.
I’ve watched Chrissy in person a couple of times now, but going through her Hudl profile was a shock- I’ve never seen a kid post her weight lifting numbers. Okay, Chrissy is a strong kid, which was evidence in her slashing ability in the games that I saw. In high school, she displayed more outside prowess than I had previously seen. She has been stuck behind a loaded 2022 class, so Chrissy is another kid that should see her scoring load increase dramatically.
