Addyson is a very skilled player with the ball and can score from anywhere on the court, whether it is a short shot at the rim or out behind the arc. She has good footwork and a good variety of moves in the post. As she continues to work on her defense and learns her position better on that side of the ball, her stock will continue to rise.
With her size, she is able to do a lot of things as she grows her skillset and adds to her development. She was part of the Top 64 this summer and I got to see her play, she had some good moves in the paint and was able to score at the rim. She played the game smooth and could beat you in different ways. Good defender, able to distribute and handle the ball.
Addison has the skill level to open some eyes as a freshman while continuing to make herself a better player. For her it will be able gaining valuable experience whatever her role will be when she gets to the high school game. She does have nice handles and showed a good shot when we saw her at the Dayton Shootout in the fall. Defensively, she is quick enough to make a difference. It will be good to watch has game continue to grow.
Highlights
I stopped into practice last week while I was at the school covering regional volleyball and got to see a glimpse of Cornett and was immediately impressed with her poise and balance for a freshman. You could see confidence on her face and will be a key component in their offense at Fairmont. She can handle the ball and can take command of a game for her age. Really excited to see how she handles the fast-paced GWOC style. I would say she will be just fine.
Monet is a player who has continued to grow her game over the last couple of years and according to her middle school coach who is one of the people in this game I trust, Monet has an incredible upside. She is a long player and is starting to knock down threes and is developing a good handle. Needs to continue to get stronger but has the potential to be special.
