Prep Girls Hoops Preseason Predictions:
Loris HS – The Lady Lions have a tough non region schedule to start the season with this young squad. Loris HS finished (20-9) last season.
Manning HS – The Lady Monarchs will rely on some veterans to the roster to lead the way this season in this new region.
Waccamaw HS – The Lady Warriors made it to the playoffs last year and finished season (16-8).
Dillon HS – Can the Wildcats pile up some wins this season after a rough year last season?
Georgetown HS – Things can only go up for the Lady Bulldogs after going (2-14) last season.
Aynor HS – The Lady Blue Jackets finished season with 6 straight losses last year.
Wilson is back to lead the charge for the Lady Monarchs. La’Tavius is also the Prep Girls Preseason Region Player of the Year. She was the ultimate stat-sheet stuffer last season where she averaged 13.4 ppg, 6 rebounds and 2.9 steals. Wilson a wing guard really likes to play the game in attack mode for the most part for the Lady Monarchs.
Smith will look to provide leadership this season for the Lady Warriors. Kiara is best suited off the ball and playing out on the perimeter. She does a real nice job of setting her feet before her shot while playing under-control at all times while on the floor. Kiara averaged 6.2 ppg last season for the Lady Warriors.
Dundy is another senior on this roster for the Lady Monarchs. Diamond is the forgotten piece at times on this squad. Last season she averaged 12.3 ppg and 8.2 rebounds for the Lady Monarchs.
Anderson plays golf very well when she’s not on the hardwood playing hoops. Parah is best suited off the ball knocking down shots from downtown behind the three-point line. She has a good shot release and selection while on the floor. Parah really gives the Lady Monarchs a very good option on the perimeter with the ability to hit shots. Anderson averaged 8.8 ppg last season.
Richburg is an all-around good athlete who can do a little bit of everything like a Swiss-Army knife. Janiya was showing some guard and ball-handling skills recently at the SCBCA Elite Camp last month. She plays with a mean streak and competitive edge at times on the floor. Richburg is not afraid to draw contact while mixing up on the glass on either end of the floor.
Perry is one tough minded kid which is the motto of this Lady Lions team. Teanna plays the game with court awareness and no lack of confidence at times. She logged a lot of minutes last season as a freshman for the Lady Lions from the point guard position. Teanna doesn’t mind scrapping and clawing for everything she does on the floor. Bottom line is she plays the game HARD just like her teammates.
Mariah is small in height but surely not in heart and determination. Campbell plays the game bigger than her size and with a fearless competitive attitude. She understands how to get the ball into the paint and looks to make plays for herself along with her teammates. Mariah will jump on the floor or in the bleachers for a loose ball. Look for the Lady Wildcats to make some progress this season in the win column.
