As I gear up for the McDonald's Texas Invitational, not be confused with club coaches who claim to make and mold McDonald's players, which is a lie, I'll catch many of the teams I saw this past weekend again. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pearland and Summer Creek are in the mix for the region's 6A title, and so is Seven Lakes which was without [player_tooltip player_id='158862' first='Justice' last='Carlton'] who represented Texas in something national. I have an Instagram live video from the game showing exactly what I'm talking about as she blocked shots on one end and outran everyone to finish on the other yet she also played the passing and handled the ball in the open court to attack and finish. She rebounds powerfully, on both ends and plays solid defense both in and outside the paint</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ciara Willaims-5'11 PF [2025]</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Williams was one of the many pleasant surprises I caught over the weekend. Her mindset alone deserves #THROWBACK because of 2 special things I love to see. You won't outwork her and she goes after EVERYTHING off the rim and thongs you can't teach always grabs me. She also finished strongly inside the paint, usually with players literally hanging on her back yet her putbacks with either hand were nice as well</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='594029' first='Jazmine' last='Hansley']-5'6 PG [2025]</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hansley stood out over the club season with her Houston Queens squad and left a lasting first impression yet she showed me even more in this setting with her high school squad. Let me start with her first step, it's hard to handle and in the open court, she can change gears while using the crossover to get by defenders. She hates me telling this story but peep this, she was showing off dribbling and I asked her "little girl can you play" and she said, "COME SEE". In the first 3 minutes, she threw a no-look for an assist, scored on a crossover to the basket and dropped a 3, looked into the stands, and stared at me, I can't make this stuff up. She is now one of the top UNSIGNED point guards in the area, she's heady, and understands how to control a team yet she's also something else, one of the top clutch shooters in Texas and her dropping the 3 on yet another IG video gives a glimpse of what I've been saying about her</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='346147' first='Addisyn' last='Parker']-5'6 CG [2024]</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Parker was smooth with the ball, especially under pressure and her court vision immediately stood out as she made good decisions while getting the ball to the right person, at the right time. Yes, I'm clairvoyant in this yet she's made it easy for me over the years to see her do it over and over since I guess the 6th grade. Her "poise under pressure" in this setting just had me smiling, she handled it so well plus she made some key defensive plays </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
