Rodriguez has always been tough as nails, and her blue-collar mentality at a young age spoke volumes as she was willing to dive on the floor for loose balls, as well as take a charge correctly. Fast forward from “back in the day” to now, those things remain the same, yet her ability to set the defender up and get her shot off has taken her game to another level, especially when she can drop the long-ball under pressure with a hand in her face

Rodriguez does a good job of getting the defender off balance so she can score off the dribble, yet peep this, she also scores around the basket, putbacks included, because she understands positioning to outrebound taller players. Her mid to long-range jumper was clicking, so was her court vision in the set as well as in transition, plus she did a good job defensively

Rodriguez is a SHOOTER and that old saying, give her an inch and she’ll drop the 3 fits, but I’m enjoying her mixing things up offensively because she understands how to get the defender to lean so she can attack and score off the dribble, after contact included. She also sees the floor well, plus she understands positioning to box out and outrebound taller opponents

Rodriguez had me thinking about putting her on my “Stock Riser” Tip Sheet yet I opted for this for several reasons. Yeah, she can create her shot and drop the mid to long-range but she also creates separation but attacking the basket off the dribble, with either hand, and giving me the FLOATA driving baseline “dropped the mic” yet she picked it up diving on the floor for loose balls

Rodriguez does so many things that you may not see on a stat sheet yet being a REAL EVALUATOR who doesn’t run and see how many points a player scores to get an idea of how much worth they bring to their team is becoming a lost art. With that being said, she has been one of the best “long ball” shooters all club season yet she plays under control, gets her teammates involved and is THE GLUE because when a big play or big shot is needed, she’s ready to step up

Rodriguez is heady and plays under control and I have always enjoyed her ability to get hers “in the flow”. She does what she does, very well, and one of those things is her willingness to take the shot under pressure yet more importantly is her consistently dropping it from mid to long-range and over the weekend, she continued her torrid shooting in every game I have caught her dropping over 50% from BTA
