There have been plenty of standouts this season, but I’ve narrowed down a list of four that I’d like to take the time to discuss this evening. All of these players are also currently uncommitted.
Kallie Peppler Kallie Peppler 6'0" | PF Hortonville | 2024 State WI
Even in games where it doesn’t seem like Peppler is playing well, she can flip a game on its head in 15-game seconds. She has the athleticism and length to smother talented wings and the ability to create a shot for herself, pass, and knock down jumpers on the offensive end. Peppler has a unique ability to ruin games for her opposition, and it’s fun to watch.
Kettle Moraine Lutheran is a scrappy bunch of kids who take advantage of every mistake and never give up on a game. For most of the matchup against defending D3 champions Waupun, Leffel drew the most challenging assignment in the conference. Against a Marquette commit, Leffel did well, and she even managed to get a lot of offense in for the Chargers. She knocked down a handful of 3-pointers and made positive plays. KML has a chance to come out of their sectional, don’t forget them come tournament time.
Sarah Aleknavicius Sarah Aleknavicius 5'11" | CG Grafton | 2024 State WI
The Grafton native is one of my favorite kids to watch in the 2024 class. Her ability to make the game look easy is almost bizarre, and she makes good players look average. Her skill at 5-foot-11 creates issues that most teams don’t have the physical tools to solve. She can shoot, pass, and dribble on the offensive end and defend multiple positions on the defensive end. Aleknavicius is one of a few kids who make simple plays every time and is never in a rush. She knows her abilities and how to maximize what she can do to help her team win games.
Tierney Madigan Tierney Madigan 5'10" | SG Laconia | 2025 State WI
I’ve been screaming from the rooftops for about eight months now about how good Madigan is. There’s not a glaring weakness skill-wise in her game, making her hard to handle. I’ve seen her win games by offensive rebounding, defending on the perimeter, scoring from all three levels, and passing. She isn’t the flashiest player in the state, region, or country, but wherever she’s played, winning has followed, and at a certain point, that stops becoming a coincidence. Madigan is a winner.
