Great teams often bring great shooters, which was the case today. In the opening game, Dexter used a strong half to pull away from Plymouth Christian, a Division 4 semi-finalist from last year. The second game saw heroics from a Heritage freshman as carried her team to a narrow victory. The home team was able to prevail against a very game Tecumseh squad

It is impressive to hit as many threes as the freshman hit today. It is impressive to hit them as deep as she did and in as many ways as she did. It is more impressive when a youngster puts her team on her back when everything breaks down and offensive movement is nonexistent. Kudos to her abilities.
The sophomore from Dexter can flat out shoot. She hit impossibly deep shots, transition shots, catch and shoot, and every other type of three pointer imaginable. She is a very capable driver and makes nice passes off of those drives. The kid is a flat bucket.
Sometimes, you can tell who is a senior based on how cerebral a kid plays. Morganne is a great passer in the press and off the bounce. She rebounds on both sides of the floor and has the ability to split double teams for plus possessions. She even hit some deep threes.

It is kind of a unique selection in that I’m not sure Jada scored, but she majorly impacted her team. She tipped passes in the 1/4 court to prevent layups. She rebounded on both sides of the ball and found open teammates. She actually boxes out and finds a way to rebound against two or three people. Jada picked up multiple steals. The kid was everywhere
While both of the Utomi twins were a handful on defense, Stephanie put a ton of pressure on Tecumseh’s defense. She was a whirlwind early in the game contesting pass, getting layups, and rebounding the ball. She had a very nice all around game and forced her opponents to change their game plan.
